    Salmon mountain biking

There are some good novice-intermediate trails in Salmon. Max at The Hub bicycle shop has started to develop a trail network along with the BLM. The Idaho/Montana divide trail is just an hour drive also. You can pick up a great trial guide book from the Hub and the Chamber of Commerce for free. It is similar to Cosmic Ray's books. The Trails End Motel is inexpensive and has a huge refrigerator/freezer.

Max is the guy who got Fruita on the map. Worth the trip up to ride his favorite mountain and desert trails.

Was there about a month ago and met Max; donated $5 for the trail guide booklet and got a nice ride in from the top of 4th of July Road (glad I've got a high clearance 4x4 rig!) on the CDT up into the Beaverheads. Cheap BLM camping right on the river at Shoup Bridge and up at Williams Lake. Killer little farmer's market on Saturday morning, too. Makes a great getaway that's nSalmon mountain biking-1157743_10151764293137348_1339996930_n.jpgSalmon mountain biking-993671_10151764294132348_2105497414_n.jpgSalmon mountain biking-10856_10151764292677348_1517268445_n.jpgSalmon mountain biking-1176347_10151764292852348_48791009_n.jpgot faraway from Bozeman.

That trail system is Discovery Hill. It is being developed by the Salmon Idaho Mtn Bike Association w/ the BLM. Just to clarify. Only 2 miles to singletrack from downtown Salmon!
