    Riding around Hailey-Its on Fire-Alternatives?

A group of us have a house rented outside of Hailey for a week of riding the first week of September. That whole area of trails appear to be on fire at the moment.

Are most of the trails closed right now? Is it as bad as it looks? Can we still put together a great week of riding, or should we be making alternative plans right now?

We are flying into Boise, so what areas are great riding not far away from Boise that are a viable alternative if we need to? I have heard that Bend, Oregon has some great riding and is not far away. Are there other places to consider?

    I would appreciate any help.

Check out InciWeb the Incident Information System: Current Incidents for updates. In the upper right hand corner of the page is a drop down menu for individual states. Go to Idaho and click on Beaver Creek complex for the latest info.

There are some fires in the Bend area too, it is about 5 hours by car from Boise. It does have lots of great singletrack. Stanley just over Galena pass still is open check out the sticky up top of the forum. Good luck

Wouldn't smoke be an issue in Stanley if Hailey is burning? We have tons of smoke here from the Hailey fire....

According to Stanley folks on Facebook, not much smoke is going North.

Check Sawtooth Camera during the daytime though, looks pretty smokey on the last few images from today. Probably going to be variable depending on wind.

So sad. Mandatory evacuations for just about everywhere west of hwy75. This is an ominous quote from the "Persons leaving their home should think of the letter "P" when packing up valuables and considering what to take: people, pets, paperwork, pictures, and prescriptions."

Greenhorn Gulch TH is now a helispot. Pic and quote lifted from the Great Basin National Incident Management Team #1 facebook page.

More pics lifted from social media. I thought last summer was bad. I hope it doesn't jump the hwy.
