Questions about Idaho City and Danskins

    First, Danskins,
I got a map, but for someone here at work who wants to try and get some hiking or snowshoeing while she can before it melts, what is the best directions after getting off at Blacks Creek (which trailhead)? to non-motorized side. thanks.

As for Idaho City, is there good singletrack riding from Whoop um up, Gold Fork, and Banner Ridge parking areas?

    Thanks!

I only rode up there a couple of times last year. Once starting at Gold Fork (which apparently I don't have pix of) and the other time starting up at Banner Ridge.

"Good" is subjective I guess. I enjoyed my time up there. If you're familiar with the Park & Ski system, then it should give you a good idea of what to expect riding wise. It was a mix of rolling singletrack, doubletrack, and FS roads. Smooth too. Nothing hard whatsoever.

Sure beats doing the Dork Loops in the summer and most importantly it was nice and quiet save for Whoop-Em-Up that was a bit noisy when I tried to ride there cuz of folks on their ATV's (I eventually left). I do hope to get up there more this upcoming summer. Could be getting a late start cuz of all the snow. But I think this time around instead of just making it a long ass day trip, I'll at least drive up Friday night, camp, ride all day Saturday, maybe camp again, ride Sunday, and then come home.

These are from June when I started the ride at Banner Ridge:

I forgot to add that in the past IDPR has done trailwork up there when the snow clears to get the trails ready for riding and to work on the yurts. I think they'll probably get a late start this year, but I do hope I am able to make it for one of those days....just as long as it's not on a Sunday and I'm not sick .

Here's a verbose write-up of a ride on Whoop-em-Up, which was the first ride on a road trip about 6 yrs ago. fun place to explore:
