hey everyone, im trey, im new here. been on a bike for years, but im starting to try to make time to do some trail riding. I have a GT RTS-3 that i have had for a few years now. I was trying to find info on it, parts, things that may need attention. i used the search function, but came back with no results for rts, or any combinations. am i using it wrong? it has been a good bike so far, i was just wondering what others may have to say about it. anyone care to point me to some good riding for a new person? i hike at vedauwoo, but have never paid any attention to the bike trails. but now im ready to go, all i have to do is find a roof rack for my car
Your profile says you are in Cheyenne. There is a lot of great riding pretty close to you. People come from miles around to ride the Happy Jack trails toward Laramie. Curt Gowdy State Park just opened some new trails. There is lots of stuff in the Fort Collins / Loveland foothills. Guernsey State Park has some pretty good riding. Casper Mountain has some trails.
I am up in Gillette and don't get down that way very often, but the riding is good and you have a lot to pick from.
Check out the trail reviews section here on MTBR and you will find plenty to get started.
I have to run right now, but if you have questions ask away.
Well, thats an old post! Never did get my old GT out. I gave it to a friend who needed a bike. So, I did road biking for a while. Really enjoy that.
My sister actually talked me in to getting a new bike. I bought a 2011 Specialized Stumperjumper Comp 29. That thing is great! Now, hopefully, I can get to some of the local trails before winter hits!
Casper here, not new to Wyoming but new to the boards. Had a nice ride on Muddy Mtn yesterday, can't post pics yet.
