    Good riding near Stanley

We're going to be staying in the Stanley area for three nights towards the end of the month....can you give me some good riding ideas. I'm looking for 2-4hr rides, pretty fun/challenging singletrack where I don't have to shuttle. Loops, point to point all good. Looking for singletrack--ok to go on/off fire roads but primarily single track. Also, is there a good bike shop in Stanley? Thanks!

Here are some 2-4 hr options:
    1. Everyone should do Fisher-Williams at least once - inter. loop w/hwy#75
    2. Redfish Lake CLOCKWISE is IMHO one of the best loops in ID. Inter-Adv.
    3. I would normally add Potato Mountain, but with the Halsted fire last year I'd pass. Best advice is to pony up $12 @ Riverwear, etc. for SNRA/WC map: Sawtooth/Whiteclouds, Idaho Trail Map & Guide | Adventure Maps

...you'll want this in your pack, and there's tons of options. Many rides in the White Clouds can go +6 hours and should be ridden with a friend and preferably someone who knows the SNRA...but you can try out-n-backs. Have fun!

I thought Elk Mountain was fun too. Probably won't quite hit your 2hr minimum, but not a bad after dinner ride.
I'm looking forward to regretting this.......

The Elk Mountain loop is definitely a fun ride. You can make it last a couple hours if you stop for lunch halfway through. I also like the Trap Creek trail up to Marten Lake. If you descend Swamp Creek you can make this a loop, but it requires a little riding along the highway. I think these are both on the adventure map that is linked above ...

Rode Redfish and fisher last week.
Redfish clockwise, bring your lungs and eyeballs for the downhill towards the lake..
Fisher has a long fireroad approach, but worth the slog....counterclockwise on fisher.

Look for Swamp to Trap Creek as a loop on the map with a bit of road to make the connetion. Either way is fine clock or counter clock.

    Stanley Trail App

While that Stanley map is in your pack...

You can look at this Stanley map online, there is an App there for $1 for your phone too.

There are a bunch of big fires in the area, expect to be breathing smoke in Stanley.
