Gardner Peak Trail Work - Part Deux

Only about 100 yards remains to complete this great new trail! Please come out this Saturday and Sunday and help the SWIMBA trail crew finish up. Meet at 10:00 AM at Highland Elementary off Bogus Basin Road and carpool up the mountain. We will work until 3:00 or 4:00 PM each day. As usual, bring gloves and water - tools will be provided.

The Gardner Peak trail is a technical, hand built trail - exactly the kind of trail experience that some of us keep saying we want - so get out and get dirty!

If you have questions, pleas contact Mike Edwards mikeshaneedwards@gmail.com or Dan Meeker dmeeker@unitedpipe.com.

    Thank you!

    Perfect weather for trail building

Finally we have some trail building weather brewing. Instead of building big boogers from all the dust, there will be enough moisture to build solid trail.

This weekend we have less than a couple hundred yards of trail to build and finish one bermed corner. The moisture is badly needed to compact the soil in the last corner. These corners take a lot of earth moving and compacting so bodies are badly needed.

There is also some final clean up and looping to do. All those pesky stobs that hid in the brush and didn't get cut the first time through. You know - those pedal catchers that put you down like the dog you are!

So get off your asssss and come up and build in the wet weather. Stop relying on a bunch of 40-year olds with bad backs to build your trails. Just one day a year!

For those of you that have been showing up, thank you so much! The trail is really showing your love and devotion to our trail network. Once this trail is finished we want to have a grand celebration in your honor and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

    Thanks again,

    Mike e.
