clark fork river trail out of st regis, mt

We rode the river trail singletrack out of st regis on Saturday. Fun 9 mile one way trail.
great family or spouse ride. I would recommend starting on the mill creek road side.

Basically a great ride to get in traveling somewhere on I-90. couple of minutes from the interstate
    and fun singletrack.

get off the st regis exit on I-90. make a right at the 4 way stop, go past the grocery store and over
the clark fork river. you will see mill creek road on your left. make the left and follow for roughly a mile.
you will wind thru some houses and such, the road will make a sweeping turn almost switchback and you
will see a gated road, with trail signs. Park there and go down the road almost a mile and you will
see the trail take off on your left. The trail is marked with a sign. the trail number is 223t or 2231 something
like that on the lolo national forest map. Hope this helps and it would work great with a alberton gorge trip.

If it is the same trail that begins/ends at a put in, don't park there. Got the window the truck busted in there and some items stolen. Sheriff said it was a problem there. Lousy way to end a great ride.

no river acces at all where we parked. so not the same trailhead, but probably the same trail. THe mill creek road trailhead is not on the highway by the bridge that I believe visi is talking about.

rode the trail Friday before dropping into the joe looking for a bear. I had a full size pickup with a 2 place sled trailer. easy turn around and place to park.
