    Bull Trout Lake to Bonneville?

Going up for some camping up around Lowman. Any one ridden this trail recently? Beta? Any other worthwhile trails to ride?
    Thanks.

Just east, across the highway from Bull Trout Lake is the Bench Creek Trail 024 that goes over towards Marten Lake. Great views from the ridge top once you get up there. Maybe some hike a bike. The Swamp Creek Trail 026 is about four miles east of Bull Trout Lake. Another great ride. The Trap Creek Trail 627, just east of Swamp Creek, is another great ride. Was up there about a month ago and they weren't cleared yet so lots of downfall. I would think somebody would have cleared them by now, Moto's??? They are higher elevation rides good for a hot day. You can loop some of them too.

can't find Lynx on the map. where is it?

    sounds like a good ride.

years ago we did that ride in reverse. bull trout to red mountain, south to kirkam and out lick creek. we had it at 35 miles and came out in the dark. oh, to be young again.

bull trout to red mountain, south out eight mile ridge to warm springs airport is pretty nice. shorter than riding out kirkam and not as tedious. all singletrack and twenty two miles of that. I think it is a better ride than down warm springs creek.

like sidehiller said, bench creek trail east over the divide with N fork canyon creek, then up and over divide with sawtooth valley to marten lake is also pretty spectacular.

cape horn summit south to bull trout lake is a short 12 mile loop with 3 miles of pavement back to car.

cape horn north to lola creek is good too.

probably lots of trees down in places. should check with lowman and stanley ranger districts about that.

check out the state of idaho parks and rec website. they have a great mapping system with lots of trails to choose from.

Lynx (Links?) not sure. Go up hill from landing strip. at the junction of Warm Springs trail, turn left and start climbing for 3-5 mi.? not sure, never gps that trail. probably 15 mi till it hits the Kirkham Ridge trail. definitely a difficult trail.

The lynx trail is a big climb I did it a couple of years ago and was defiantly worked at the top.

Quick update....Ended up riding from Bulltrout to Bonneville on the Warm Springs Trail #147. Lots of loose areas on the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the trail. Good ride all around though and took us 2 hrs 45 min. Might try the route out to Red Mountain, Eight Mile Creek and back to the airstrip next time.

Didn't have to go back to Bulltrout! My lovely wife was kind enough to run shuttle for us. So....at the end of the ride I was able to grab a cold one and head straight for the hot springs.
