Broken Frame -- Santa Cruz Tallboy

Friend of mine in Austin broke the frame on his Santa Cruz Tallboy today. He did not wreck on it today, but has previously so its possible the crack was caused by an earlier mishap -- no way for him to tell. The SC warranty reads that they pretty much decide if they think it's defective or not. Bike is less than 6 months old.

Anyone have any experience dealing with them on warranty issue? If so, any advice?

If the bike is less than 6 months old it should still be under warranty. Have him take it back to where he got it. They may send it to Santa Cruz to be looked at. Did you post this in the Santa Cruz forum? Might be a better spot. My beautiful Santa Cruz TRc was stolen last fall. Waaaaaaah, sniffle, sob......
    Ride the bike.

I broke an original blur. The rear swingarm to be exact.. SC told me my original frame's front triangle was also outta spec. Got a replacement (entire New frame) without a hassle.
