trigger pulled - Mojo SL ordered!

Well after much consideration i ordered an SL about two weeks ago, from the UK distributer - should be here any day now...

looking to build it up for more burlier/ AM riding.Swapping some bits over from my old titus FTM and adding new wheels and forks.

    Ibis Mojo SL (large)
    Fox Talas 36 FIT
Crankbros Iodine wheelset 20mm bolt thru
    XTR Crankset
    XTR Shifters
    XTR Front + Rear Mech
Hope Tech X2 brakes, floating rotors 183 front and 160 rear
    Ritchey WCS riser bars
Thomson elite stem (90mm) and seatpost
    ODI Ruffians
Tyres - open to suggestions, mountain kings/nobby nics maybe

I have no idea what weight it will build upto, il just wait n see (best guess's appreciated though)

Try Schwalbe Fat Albert 2,25 Snake Skin. It works really well.

I am going from 2.35 Nevegal Stick -E to a Rear 2.1 Nobby Nic EVO and a front specific 2.35 Fat Albert Snake skin. will let you know what I think.

cheers for the input guys - il look into the tyre choice abit more.. Fat Alberts look good..

STILL waiting on the frame to arrive here in the UK (promised me this friday now) was originally delayed due to the Volcano god in Iceland screwing with air freight. Ive literally ridden every demo bike in my LBS in the last few weeks whilst waiting. its driving me MAD! cant wait to get out on it!

Thinking of going with a 70mm stem now (depending on cockpit fit)

Are you sure those hope tech x2's fit in with your build, the tech x2's are lightweight xc brakes, stopping power isnt fantastic.

yeah this was something i was thinking about actually. The hopes were left over from my Titus FTM build, and as you rightly point out, are abit on the lightweight side for this more AM based build. And even on the FTM lacked abit of bite,

    Alternatives im considering are:

Avid Elixer CR's (had some on one of the test bikes ive been borrowing and had plenty of power)

Formula 'The ones' - heard good things, and my girlfriends R1's have plenty of power

    Saints? Maybe overkill?

or some Hope M4's (easy for spares/warrenty as im in the UK)

I would say try the X2 as they are, the 183 front disc should be enough to make the bike stop properly. If not, you can always go for a Goodridge hose to further increase the power without changing the brakes.

I like Hope M4. It's gorgeous. Is it cheaper in UK or same old, same old.
I'd go with the Marta Mag or R1 though, or X2

I go with Hope Tech M4/180 in front and Tech X2/160 in rear and they are enough for me. I'm only thinking to change the 160 mm rear disc for 180 m, but I'm not sure.

Perversly i think Hope M4's are actually more $$$ in the UK then the U.S.

I think for the time being im going to keep the X2's, drop the rear 160mm rotor and swap the 183mm on the back. And get another 183 rotor for the front. And see how it go's... for now

I have just invested in Fishboys frameskin kit though,so thats on the way. And some framewrap for the chainstay.
