    SL-R Front Derailleur Question

So I am building an SL-R up and i ordered an XT front direct mount derailleur because i all ready had a shimano XT crankset. Now after reading I realized you can not use the Shimano 26x38 gearing.

My questions is if I order an XO crankset with 24/38 gearing can I still use the XT direct mount derailleur or do i need to send back the derailleur and and order an X0 direct mount?

    Any suggestions?

    Hey slurms mckenzie,

    Todd here from Ibis.

It looks like the crankset you have will be fine. The issue with the Shimano 26/38 combination is only a issue with the XTR crankset.

Also the XT 26/38 crankset works best with a 36/38 Sram front derailleur.

    Best, Todd
