    Ripley Colors :-(

I prefer plain carbon black on carbon frames, especially on MT bikes. Chips in paint annoy me, black carbon does not chip like paint.

I ordered the Black/Green because it was the closest thing.... but I have to say, I think the color scheme is hidious... especially seeing it in person. The Blue is actually not half bad, but I don't want paint.

A nice black frame is so easy to trim out..... what goes with neon green, except MORE neon green?.... Ugh......

Am I alone with this feeling?...

I've got the Blue but had no choice at the time...I'm OK with it.
A bicycle will take you to fantastic places....if you let it.

A bit of effort, but get the green changed so you can be happy. They make duct tape in black.

I agree. Want the same, matte black carbon Ripley, no trim color. Let us know if you do something to yours. When I get one I'm seriously thinking of getting the green removed before building. Probably by a reputable painter that will make it look like it came that way.

    Total agreement.

I'm waiting to buy my Ripley after they've made this change.

I dig the black and green. I'd prefer to see more than just the two choices though.

I really doubt that they are gonna make a plain black scheme, but I can be wrong. Why not matte down the trim yourself with water and 1600-grade paper?

Are you talking about sanding the green down to a dull green? Interesting. I emailed Ibis about the color. Scot himself replied and said they aren't going to change colors. So it's up to the owners. Post up if you've done anything to change the color or removed it.

I was more thinking about removing the trim altogether, but dulling is of course also an option.

I think the blue looks awesome!

I saw a black/green one with green i9's and the green esi's. Didn't match perfectly but looked pretty awesome to me.

You should be able to get a bare carbon ripley with some elbow grease. I successfully removed the color from the down tube on my HDR. 1000 then 1600 wet sandpaper, being very carful only to remove the color. Before I build the frame Ill give it a coat with a high grade carbon safe wax.
