    Smile My Ibis HD Build

I am so excited I can hardly control myself.. After having slapped a deposit down what feels like ages ago, the waiting is by now causing distinct tingling sensations in my toes and finger tips!

I have ordered a frame only, and here the kit that I plan on building her up with:

    White Ibis HD with RP23
    Rockshox Lyrik 2-step tapered
    Thompson X4 Elite 0deg 50mm stem / Easton Havoc 50mm (still deciding)
EA70 mid or low riser / Easton Havoc riser bar (still deciding)
    Formula K24 brakes
    X-0 grip shifts
    DMR Odi grips
Joplin 3 remote or, if I can get more bucks together, a KS950 Cobra
I-9 Enduro hubs and ZTR Flow rims
    Kenda Nevegal 2.35 tires
    X-0 rear derailleur
    XT front derailleur
    XT crank
    Chris King BB and headset
Goodridge brake and shifter cables upgrade

I know that excited feeling. It's intoxicating, eh?

Looks like a very sweet build. Kudos on the X0 stuff. It works great. Have you considered the new Formula The One brakes? They're light and powerful, and were recently rated best on market by UKMBA. Also, Crankbrothers have released a 4" version of the Joplin that's the same price as the 3" version.

I really wanted the The Ones, but got a great deal on a used set of K24's, and with the price of the frame and fork I had to bargain-hunt a bit for some of the other things.

I have a Joplin 3 on my current Mojo - thought of just using that, but I heard varying opinions on the Joplin 4 and only good things on the Cobra - keen to hear your thoughts?

I talked with Crankbrothers about the new 4" Joplin, and they said there are four differences from the 3" model:

    1. an inch more travel
    2. two guide doohickies inside, so less chance of developing side to side play
    3. better seals
    4. better saddle clamp

And he also added that CB is doing an upgrade program: Send them your 3" post plus $125 and they'll send you a new 4" post. Not too shabby.

Oh nice, I'm gonna have to go for that upgrade program, thanks for that news!

Not too much aside from the foam-at-the-mouth impatience issue.

Build kit did change to the following though:

    White Ibis HD with RP23
    Rockshox Lyrik 2-step tapered
    Thompson X4 Elite 0deg 50mm stem
    RaceFace SIXC low rise bar
    Formula The One brakes
    X-0 grip shifts
    Cane Creek / DMR grips
    KS950 Cobra Seatpost
I-9 Enduro hubs and ZTR Flow rims
Kenda Nevegal 2.35 tires / Maxxis High Rollers 2.35
    X-0 rear derailleur
    XTR front derailleur
    RaceFace SIXC crank
    Chris King BB and headset
Goodridge brake and shifter cables upgrade (white)
