Mojo HD Special Blend, anyone running 650b on these xfusion stuff?

170mm vengeance fork and 160mm xfusion rear shock on a 2013 ibis mojo hd frame. Anyone running one of these with 650b? What all was needed to do so?

welp, read through derby's posts and looks like the 160 will rub at full travel. Mostly wondering if the tire fits the front fork when its moved down to 150mm.

The 650b with a good size tire (specialized butcher 2.3) fits fine under the "arch" of my Vengeance. Can't imagine why/how reducing the travel would change that.
As quite a few have pointed out, your difficulty will be with the rear wheel hitting the seat tube. I'm going to give the 140mm limbo chips + 7.875x2.25 shock option a whirl. (HD 140 with a 7.875-2.25 who has done it?)

Which will rub, the front or rear? The front should not, as X-Fusion as the Vengeance is already 650b compatible. The rear most certainly will though.

Anyone running 650b on the front only, so you can keep 160 travel? If so how is it?

I have a Vengeance and have been running a Hans Damph 2.35 27.5 for over a year. It does not rub. The fork is an approved 27.5 fork, there are no issues running 27.5. I am running mine at 170.

That would be the way I'd like to try it first to see if it makes a difference. But I really like my bike the way it is, so I'm not sure I'm actually going to do that unless someone loaned me a 650B 20mm TA wheel.

Ok, I'm going to travel adjust the vengeance to 150 and run the 140 chip with 7.875x2.25 shock in the rear. My frame has the little divot in it for clearing the rear tire better.

Can't loan you a front 650b, but I did just do the front only while I'm waiting for my 140mm limbo chips to show up.

Vengeance 170mm; 650b front; 26" rear. The BB height was too tall ~370mm. So, I took the Veng apart and set the travel to 150mm mode. This put the BB height in line with how it was in full 26" mode.

Went out for a super chunky, technical ride that I'm very familiar with. I'll admit I was prepared to be underwhelmed with any improvements made by the 150mm fork and 650b wheel. However, my experience was nothing shy of phenomenal. I felt like I was cheating. I was clearing everything both up hill and down. I didn't feel nearly as beat up after the ride. I did feel the rear wheel getting hung up on stuff right after the front rolled over it. So, I'm thinking there will be more improvements with a 650b rear.

Granted, this is only one ride, but I was super impressed. If you have a 650b capable fork that can be adjusted to preserve your geometry, borrow a front wheel from someone and give it a try. I'm guessing you get 70% - 80% of the 650b "experience" with just the front wheel change.
