jimarin, with the amount of money you pay for a set of carbon havens, why not go the enve route? I've heard the haven bearing system has been really problematic for a few of my friends. I'm just wondering. Sweet ride otherwise, are you in the NE area as well?

$1520 for the havens @ bikebling with realdeal coupon. Enve rims would have been $1600 just for the rims. I did extensive research and couldn't find 1 instance of an issue with the new 2012 hubs. They switched to a reverse thread on the preload adjust which makes it unlikley to loosen like the older hubs. So basically lighter, cheaper and ust is why. I live in nj.

Ahhh, I see. I didn't know they upgraded the preload adjust on the bearings. I'm on the hunt for a pair of enves and won't pay anything over 1800 for a full set, so I might be on the hunt for a while.
Good find on the Havens though, not trying to knock 'em, I'm just biased.

Believe me, the hubs are a concern with all the known issues I was still apprehensive. I only have one ride on them so I can't say much for their durability but they are crazy fast. They roll way faster than the crossmax sx they replaced. Time will tell if I made the right choice though...

I ride Haven Carbons and the rims are bullet proof. Full UST and I bash mine without any issues. Had a buddy miss a bunny hop up a curb at 20+ MPH with them and not a mark. The real issue is not the bearings, but the freehub and that is because people don't know how to maintain them. I don't think the sealing system is the best so I just pull (literally just pull and it comes right off) it once a month and put a few drops of synthetic motor oil in there. Takes less than 60 seconds. Problem solved.

That's good to know salespunk, I think I'll be picking up a set of havens for my Niner in the next week or so while I wait for the enves and that tip is something that'll come in handy.

Love it Pat ^ - Just enough matchy bits to show you thought about it but not so much as to make the bike look like a show-pony. The Ceramikoat cranks look great and the hope hubs, rotors, and piston covers match nicely with the blue nipples.

Is the black a Van? That'd be my choice. Well worth the extra grams from my experience.
