Please post ride report, how is the Deville/HD combination. Have you fitted the VIPr yet? Thinking along similar lines.

I have last years 160 Devilles. Is there much difference with the 2012 170's?

Well .... 1cm ! so a little slacker up front.
The few differences for 2012 are just the new axle + new stickers.

Be sure to grab some local beer (in an Ibis Pint glass of course) @ your Pisgah Ibis HQ. The Hub and Pisgah Tavern.

Should be 10 or do Sl, Sl-R, and Hds racing tomorrow at The SWANK 65. Perfect bikes

Thanks for the compliments. The bike is just as good as I remembered from the demo ride I had back in March. The seatpost has been flawless. Haven't had the chance to have it weighed but I am going to get the same bar in carbon and will be putting a 203 rotor up front.. Gonna try some Hans Damph tires when these tires wear out too. I will throw up the weight when I run across some scales. Cheers!

I had originally ordered an SLR but cancelled it in July for an HD. I had wanted it in 160 rear/150 front
but the shop ordered a 140/140 which seemed like a better approximation to the SLR. Here is the original
    build:

    Size:.........Medium
    Fork:.........Fox Float 140 RLC
    Shock:......Fox RP23 (140mm)
Wheelset:..Industry Nine XC laced to Arch rims
    Headset:....Cane Creek 110
    Handlebar: Easton EA70
    Stem:........Thomson X4 90mm
    Brakes:......Formula RX with 160mm rotors
    Grips:........Salsa
    Shifters:.....SRAM XO 10 Speed Trigger
    Front Der:..SRAM X0
    Rear Der:...SRAM X0 Medium Cage
    Crank:.......SRAM X0 26/39
    Cassette:..SRAM PG-1070
    Chain:.......SRAM PowerChain 1091
    Seatpost:..Thompson Elite
    Saddle:.....WTB Devo Ti
Tires:........Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.25 TL, Snakeskin (front), DD (rear)
    Pedals:.....Shimano XTR
Weight:......About 26.5 lbs (estimate by standing on scale with bike)

So now for a bit of a different HD160 build from everyone else. Being a bit old school, I prefer a higher
bottom bracket and quicker steering so I did some Ebay work and found a new shock and fork. I also
ordered some modified X0 twist shifters since I don't really like triggers and couldn't get used to their
    shifting. The new parts are:

Fork:.........RockShox Revelation RLT Ti Dual Position
Shifters:.....SRAM XO GripShift modified by BlackCat Bone
    Saddle:.....Fizik Arione vs
    Grips:........ESI
    Bar Ends:...Ritchey WCS

Mojo HD Picture & Build Thread-img_0853.jpg

I love this build. The only upgrade I would consider at this point is a 22-36 chainring setup; I do miss the granny gear occasionally.

    Mojo HD almost there

Started building my HD last weekend after my new wheels and tyres landed.
I was unsure if the Crossmax SX would suit the HD, I think they look fine.
I've not built a bike up in a while, so I'm determined to build this exactly how I want it.
The XTR chain set was a doodle to fit, the King headset was a different story, this is the second headset that I received from dealer

Here's a few pics of the build so far.

Although I am not a huge fan of the Crossmax rims, they look good along with those hubs and the matching Fox print on the fork. And XTR is always a good choice, if you can afford it. Keep us updated.

    Mojo HD Build

It's my dream bike, I've been around Mountain Bikes almost as long as Ibis have, I'm a real YETI fan, but they just don't seem to be cutting it,with maybe the exception of the SB 66.

I was undecided on which bike to initially build, I was torn between Mojo HD, Carbon Nomad, and just before it's release the SB66. I don't think any of these would have been a bad choice, but the HD just seemed to tick more boxes.

It's been a while since I built up a full bike, but I sure am enjoying this build, now I've just got to finish it and go ride.

Brakes are my next purchase, any recommendations would be welcome, been looking at XTR, Hope, Formula and Avid, the usual suspects I guess. My heart says Hope, but quite a lot of mixed reviews out there and I'm unsure which of the XTR would be best with this build.

Ah beautiful frame. My dream bike is on hold while I look for a fair deal on a used HD frame. I currently have all my components already minus the fork (will be purchased depending on the color of the frame).

For my brakes, I have Hope Tech M4/X2. Beautiful looking brakes, flip-flop design, matchmaker, and a cinch to bleed.
    Current Ride:
Ibis Mojo SL-R - Medium - South Beach White
    '11 Specialized Roubaix Compact Rival

So, were you able to step down the smaller ring to a 24 - if so, how did it work out?
Currently 9 spd with 22 front 34 rear for ultimate granny gear and not wanting to lose much/any - and 26 with 36 not as low, and neither for that matter is 24/36.......

If you're waiting for a deal, there some pretty good deals on eBay right now.
If I'm not mistaken, there was recently a used hd for a little under 3500 with ibis' stock
Build. Considering they usually start at 4200, I thought that was a steal!

If I were you, I'd jump on it and keep the frame and sell/swap components to your liking.
