Really stoked to see this thread still alive and kicking!!

Me and 3 other HD owners are gonna be up in Whistler next week (18th-24th) so I'm definitely looking forward to adding more to this thread.

Are you a middle finger braker?
I did that for years then forced myself to go pointer only. My DH speed has gotten better since doing so. Also feel I have a better grip on the bar.

Poor video quality and not as much speed on the bike as I'd like, but this was from the second and final weekend of Steven's Pass here in WA. It's the intermediate jump trail. Will be way more fun next year when it's dry and you can get some more speed up.

Wow , indeed that looks like a harsh landing especially with the rear wheel hitting first.
were those shots from a video I assume? would love to see actual video of that if such is the case. Props!

Yeah...without a doubt, I baked it and snapped my seat on the landing. A little rear wheel landing is required for that drop. Although the pictures don't show it very well, it's about a 7 foot drop and the landing is to flat.
The pictures are off of a video. I'll try to post the video.

The big jump track looked closed and overgrown, but the regular ds track looked in great condition. Caution, mojo classic content! I found rolling everything to be faster, maybe I just needed to go bigger.

    bailey bike park, pittsburg, ca.

Cal hosted xc and super d at lake sonoma. Seemed no schools hosted near campus, except reno.

    Reveille Peak Ranch

A little stoke from my day off today at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, TX; such a fun local destination. Think of Gooseberry Mesa, but with much more climbing, mix in some shaded technical singletrack with intermixed granite features and a little bit of Super D action. Great fun!

I was out on a solo ride today, and another rider snapped a photo for me after fixing his flat tire.

I did that same race, looks like we're in the same class. I was on a VitaminP HD, took second place. 2nd-7th was a pretty close group.

I need to step my endurance game up. Did so badly at the opener for cccx dh.

Spending a bunch of time in Whistler leaves little desire to ride anything in the Bay Area.

Finally browsed through this thread. Man, you guys sure aren't taken it easy on those HDs.... which confirms what I suspected: This is a great all-around bike that can sprint with much smaller bikes and huck with much bigger ones. Glad to see it gettin' put through its paces and (apparently) holding up.

The fact that there's so many pics/vids from Super D and Enduro events also confirms what I suspected: This is the ultimate weapon for that kind of racing.

Filmed on Rb's HD piloted by yours truly. I would of killed my friend who bailed in front of me at the end if it hadn't of been so easy to flick the HD around in the air.
Way to rock the HD! Impressive near miss at the end! Dig the old school D Jr song too!

Has your frame seen many crashes? If so, how's it holding up?

Nice work. I have only ridden RE once and it was much more technical than I expected. You rode that much smoother than I did.

well, you clearly have some sack. that's a lot of air time to contemplate the landing.

is the landing really as flat as it looks? how did the hd feel hitting the ground?

    well done!

Isn't it "too big" for HD? Anyway, I rather wouldn't jump it on an air shocked HD

Heh - rb and I both took our HDeez to Whistler for a week - mine came back clapped because I'm such a hack at riding, but really, any bike would be beaten up from 5 days of 10am-5pm lift assisted riding. Frame itself was flawless, just everything else broked. Next year I'm just going to rent a big bike.

Downtime to order and install replacement parts + money spent on replacement parts >= cost of rental bike for 5 days.

What broke? I was planning to get a pair of cheap beater DH wheels and use the HD for park days assuming the wheels would take the brunt. You're making me question this plan...

    Don't listen to Joe lol...

The parts that have been breaking on our bikes (being honest):
    - rear derailleurs (Saint, SLX)
    - rear rims (I deeeestroyed a DT 6.1 lol)
    - lower MRP chainguide pulley (replaced with sawed-off derailleur cage and works way better)
    - shifter cable keeps fraying wtf

Combined, we've both logged hundreds of thousands of vertical feet descending, tons of cased landings, crashes, epic fails, etc. so all these things are to be expected. ***** happens.

I wouldn't hesitate about bringing an HD to any bike park, anywhere.

FWIW, I have nearly 2 years on my HD and have been thrashing on my bike with minimal maintenance. I still trust this thing with my life.
