Insight on mods to Tranny for 27.5 ??

MTBR's Sea Otter coverage included a "review" of a Tranny modifed to fit 650b/27.5 wheels. Ibis doesn't condone this modification, of course, but I'd like to understand what was modified, and how. Tim Cannard reportedly did the mods.

Have these mods been documented anywhere? Can anyone who saw the bike comment on what was modded?

Looking at the photos, its hard to determine what was modified. When I was contemplating this myself a couple months ago, I was thinking that the dropouts were the logical place to modify. Over-engineering a beefy extension to the current dropouts, perhaps going to 142x12 as well, seems like a viable possibility with garage-based carbon fab skills and tools.

Extending the axle location backwards would provide the tire clearance, and one could adjust the frame geometry by moving the axle upward an appropriate amount to maintain BB height and head angle.

my understanding is that it is a cutout of carbon and the slot machine with no change to the dropouts.

I'm guessing this was already sold a while ago... does anyone know who did the actual modifications or have an idea of how much they would charge?
