    It's Queen Latifah's birthday.

They make a big deal about it every year...

I had an idea what the timer on Ripley 29 page was about but wanted to hear from the horse's mouth, so I posted the question and got a reply.

The timer that appeared without any explanation on the Ripley 29 page on your web site - is this an "obvious" count-down to your Ripley launch date?

    Hi,
Actually, that countdown time is global across our site. But you are right, there's no explanation. We're not saying exactly what it is, but your guess is very good.

C'mon. Everyone knows its actually for 2 bikes. The Ripley and the bike that the Ripley has taken our focus off of. The HD 27.5 150. They are both gonna be sweet.

I predict a full 29er conversion for ibis: Ripley and the Tranny9er on the same day.

I hope it's not the HD 27.5, only because I can't get a new bike for awhile.

Caveat emptor. After the fiasco of the SL-R roll out and delay upon delay, I would by very cautious about jumping on the bandwagon again.

I'll go out a limb and say this is why the Ripley has taken so long to be released. I'm hopeful next week they announce the geo., colors, pricing, shipping dates and that they already have frames ready to go- fingers crossed!

Since its being released closed to St. Patty's day maybe a Guinness Foam Ripley?

Anyways, to not promise in advance is the way forward for Ibis to not break it's back on foil-ware. Go Apple style - "and, one more thing...that ships tomorrow."

Then you have very sharp eyes. I could barely identy it as a Ripley from the shape.

Looks like it may be blue with some black "webbing" across it. From their tumbler page.

The countdown timer is in the main page. I hope it's a Tranny 29er.

That baby blue is growing on me.

Baby blue, matte black, baby blue, matte black, baby blue, matte black, baby blue, matte black.

    Hmmm.

    Decision time approaches!

Crossing fingers for Matte Black! Doesn't look like the HA has changed much, but doesn't really matter to me as I have an Angleset on deck ready to go.

Looks sweet. 68.5 head angle with the 140mm fork is spot on and the 44ish inch wheel base is impressive. Not sure about the sub 13" BB height, I'd have to ride one on my local trails to see if that would work in the chunk. Just looking at the numbers, I'd bet it will be a carving machine.

From the leaked pics I think the blue with black accents look the biz. I expected that a black with colour accents would be my pick, but we'll see when the release has happened.

The reach dimension on the XL is pretty damn short for an XL. In fact, its within a couple mm of a size L 2009 Turner Sultan . . . and a full one inch shorter than the 2009 XL Sultan that I'm currently riding.

I think that may categorically eliminate this one from my consideration.

I wish Ibis would recognize the larger riders. An XL Tallboy is longer than these Ripley's, and yet Santa Cruz still offers a 2XL. As does Turner offer a 2XL. Ibis gives us only a L that they call XL.

This was my main concern as well. Seeing the specs I'm fortunate that the XL should be perfect for me

The black with green should officially be called the "Tron" colorway. I'll be please as punch to get my hands on either scheme though.
