    Headset for SLR new build

Hi, I'm quite new to building bikes. This is using 2012 SLR frame. I will have LBS install the headset, fork and bottom bracket. I'm looking for suggestions on which headset to buy. I'm leaning towards Cane Creek but open to anything. I will be using Rock Shox Revelation RCT3 1-1/8" tapered fork.

Would for example Cane Creek 40 Series EC34 work? I would like to stay in the $50 price range if possible.

Cane Creek 40 Series EC34 Headset > Components > Headsets and Spacers > Headsets | Jenson USA Online Bike Shop

I'm not sure what specs I should look at and what will fit the frame (2012 SLR).

Any suggestions for other headsets? What fits?

    Thanks
    Darius

I'd go with a full tapered headset and use a reducing crown race on your fork. Gives you more options that way in the future. But if you are hellbent on running that 1-1/8" steer tube forever, just get the straight option below.

    Tapered:
    ZS44/28.6 | EC49/40

    Straight:
    ZS44/28.6 | EC49/30

I've used the CC 40 series headsets on my last few builds with no issues at all. Solid headsets.

decided to go with the Cane Creek AngleSet EC44/EC49 due to its flexibility in adjustments. Hopefully my LBS will have no issues with 'proper' installation and there will be no noises
