    HDR Delays

    Hey guys,

Hopefully someone on this forum can shed some light on this topic. I ordered an XL reverse vitamin P HDR on the day they were released through my LBS. In that time I am continually been told it will ship in two weeks time. Two weeks come and go and I get told the same thing again. You know the story. I emailed Ibis directly and they told me to deal with my LBS so that didn't help me at all. On having a look through these forums I see that some people were waiting for over 12 months when they released the SLR a few years back. I am from NSW in Australia so that might have something to do with it - I am guessing they fill the US and Euro orders first. I was hoping someone with some inside knowledge would at least be able to give me a straight answer with the approximate wait times. Anyone in AUS have an XL yet?
    Thanks

I was told that the XL's should arrive on Monday or Tuesday (tomorrow or the day after).
The two week delivery date keeps being extended but hopefully this is a concrete time stamp.
I'll post something if I hear differently.

My L HDR has been delayed by about 3 weeks, but I was told it officially shipped on Friday.

I have an XL Ripley on order and this sounds very familiar.

For the record, I'm waiting on a large. Supposedly the X01 spec is the cause for the latest hold-up.

wow, that XO1 stuff is still not in?? was told it is 'in customs' and decided to go with XX1 instead.

I am hoping as well. I am waiting on frame only. Apparently, if you want the blue, they have them in stock.

I'm wishing I had splurged for XX1 now. I thought it was too steep an upsell but I could've been riding!

    All of the above?

My understanding is that there were a lot of recent delays for parts coming out of Asia and specifically Taiwan, first due to typhoon weather in the area which was slowing/stopping shipping for a spell, then customs over here in US ports (Bay Area). A mix of Force Majeure and Homeland Security Theater.

I suspect it's hitting a number of companies, and the X01 stuff is so new that most won't have any on hand so they're stuck waiting for incoming goods.

I ordered mine Aug 28th. I also heard that X01 shipping and customs was causing the delays.

I have an XL rev vit P on order as well. I've been told that the frames that keep arriving do not pass quality control, and they keep waiting for a batch that is up to snuff.

and yes, the blue is available.

Following exactly the same pattern as seen by Tranny,HD,Ripley. First runs are all a bit late despite best intentions. Note for future, stop trying to be first kid on block with new toy

FWIW, it seemed like it was bad paint/decal QC that was the issue, not the frame integrity itself. At least that's what the word on the street was.

...and as you said, the Cobra Blues were not impacted.

Regardless, seems like it's more parts flow then anything else right now.

That's exactly where I came down on the color choice too. I really like last year's HD black with grey accents. It's too bad as I assume the matte carbon will weather wear better than the gloss blue, even if the blue is damned sexy while new.

I wasn't to hot on the reverse p accents either, but really wanted the matte natural finish. Lucky for me the Vit p accents are very easily removed. You can pretty much take a rag soaked with iso alcohol and rub the vit p off. Im considering removing the Vit p from outer seatstays, only leaving the vit p on upper top tube and inner stays, but for now Ill leave it as is. Result looks as if it was never painted to begin with.

My Vit P large X01 is in and I'm picking it up tonight. From the text my LBS sent, it looks like Ibis has swapped out the Pacenti Neo Motos with Maxxis Ardents. I'd rather have the Neo motos but I think I'll get over it

I too ordered a HDR reverse vit p in a medium 26" wheel version with my dealer on the day it was launched. Was first told it would be end of july, then some time in september and now we have not been given any further dates. I have emailed the UK importer who say they are coming in on every shipment but so far there is only cobra blue 650B versions here in the UK. No sign on any reverse vit p in either 26 or 650b. I also emailed Ibis direct who said the same as the op and to contact your dealer.

Hanns can you shed anymore light on this?

Was told today by my lbs that my xl vitamin p frame will be shipping tomorrow. They reckon it will be here in 1 and a half weeks. Have heard this before however. Will wait and see. Lucky Ibis make such bloody good bikes because they always seem to have issues with their new model roll outs!!!

Can someone please confirm or deny that the seat post clamp diameter is 34.9mm for the HDR?
    Thank you,

34.9, but if your thinking of a new clamp your probably best going with the one from ibis. The hd and hdr have a molded curve in the seat tube the seat post clamp sits tight onto. Im not sure your going to get a good fit with another brand seat clamp.

The way it is going, the frame may never arrive!
At least when it does, I'll have all winter to get it ready to ride!

+1 for this suggestion. I bought a fancy Crank Brothers' QR for MojoSL once and it didn't fit well because of the molded curve at seat tube collar. Had to return that one.

There is stock of the uprising in the uk so should have it by the weekend.

The frame skin kit is for a medium in the matte finish.
I will post to anywhere in the world but please date in mind I live in the uk so the cost might be a bit higher

BTW for those of you waiting for the X01 HDR, hang in thereóit's well worth it! I've been riding mine for a few days now and I'm absolutely blown away by how much fun this bike is.

I demoed an XT build and really liked it. But after a lot of back and forth I went for the X01.

The X01 is utterly, eerily silent on descents, shifts like a dream (although I miss shimano's push/pull) and has yet to drop a chain.

I really enjoyed the xt demo HDR (or I wouldn't have ordered an ibis) but I'm kind of amazed at how much better this bike is. Some of the credit goes to the '14 fox shock & fork, which I think is a huge improvement over last year's version. I'm so glad i pulled the trigger on this bike and build. (Pardon the babbling, but i'm still a bit giddy after today's ride.)

I'm running a 2014 fox front & rear, up front a talas 160/34 in the front, seems as plush as any float I've ridden, I get full travel, and the CDT actually works unlike my 2013 stuff. Best stuff fox has put out yet IMHO.

I've got the 34 on my bike. It's so much plusher than the 2013 34 on the bike that I demoed. The demo bike beat the crap out of me on braking bumps and rock gardens front and rear. And it wasn't just me. 4 other people I talked to during the demo had the same impression. Yesterday I rode the exact same DH that I demoed the HDR on and knew as soon as i hit the first set of braking bumps that things had been dramatically improved with the fox stuff.
