hd with 40mm rims, do i need new rear triangle

have hd with 650b wheels. thinking to get nextie 40mm hookless rims. anyone runs 40mm 650b rims using old rear triangle? not sure how much wider tires get on these rims. my preffered combo is neomoto 2.3 rear and hd 3.35 front. looks like i still have decent clearance on the sides at yoke

Not sure about the Neomoto's, but when we test fitted my friends bike it was not happy with the Rock Razor rear even in the new rear end.

wow, bummer. ibis site says 3-5mm tire width increase for their rims, which would work with neomotos i think. rock razor seems to come in 2.35 only which if it is the size of hans dampf 2.35 would be quite bigger than neo moto

I have the 1st gen frame with 135mm rear spacing and I run the 40mm wide Derby rims. Neo Moto 2.3, Honey Badger 2.2 and Spesh Purgatory Control 2.3 all have enough room in the rear triangle (although the HB and PC are quite tight), the seat tube clearance is a more limiting factor with these tires. If Neo Moto 2.3 is your go to tire, no need to get a new rear triangle.
