    Gamut P20 Dual

I'm looking to change my current bash/stinger setup and was wondering if anyone is using the P20 with their HD? Good? Bad? I'm running a 3x10 with middle and small (33 & 22), bash, and stinger.

I used it, but I am not a fan. If you're confident you'll never hit the guide on anything it is fine, but a couple rock hits and it becomes a never ending game of trying to get the aluminum straight again. I am simply tired of parts where durability is in question in order to provide marketing gram counts - this is one of them.

I would rather take a little weight and go with the MRP 2x simply because it's more trail ready for the types of trails most HD riders will see.

I used the Gamut P20 dual for a while but hit the boomerang several times. I ended up switching the e13 heim2 with a 40T bashguard on my XT 3x10 down converted to 2x10. The MRP 2x (HD specific doesn't work with down-converted 3x10 cranks, otherwise I'd probably use that). With that said. I have been very happy with the Heim2 w/40T. The added size of the 40T bash helps prevent the boomerang from getting hit in most conditions.

I moved the Gamut to my Moto-lite and it works very well (quite and smooth), but I did ended up bending the guide. However, I was able to bend it back by hand. It's definitely not as durable as the Heim2 (in my opinion).

I've got over 100 miles now on my MRP 2x with 3x10 cranks - works flawlessly. Just have to dremel material from the screw head. See the MRP thread for my comments on grinding and spacing.

Thanks for the info. Glad you were able to get it to work. Could you post a pic of the clearance you're getting now?

    Cheers

Yeah I'll try and get a picture up at some point, but I've been around awhile and posting in this forum quite a bit over the years so think I'm pretty trustworthy when I say it isn't rubbing. I doubt you'll ever hear anything from MRP or Ibis because what I did involved grinding a screw down and they certainly can't be giving this the thumbs up even though it's pretty simple.

I'm sure if there was more volume than the handful of us they would probably just get a custom flat head made, but can't see there being enough of us using this to warrant that...

I'm not doubting your trustworthiness. Just a little bike porn...that's all.
