Did you add discs to your old Ibis?

I've noticed some people on here with older Ibis bikes, running disc brakes. I don't recall any of the older frames having disc brake tabs on the rear, but maybe I'm wrong.

For those of you that might have had them welded on, and re-painted, I'd like to hear how you had it done, or who did it for you.

    Talk to Castellano or Potts...

I've been debating putting discs on my beloved Ti Mojo, but doubt I will in the end.

I spoke with John C. when I was down at NAHMBS recently and he said he is having them done by Steve Potts. I think you can call up either one of them to discuss having it done. If you're dealing with a softtail Ibis I'd call Castellano first.

Paragon Machine Works makes a nice loooong, structurally sounds disc tab for the old skool Ti bikes that those guys use. This is key as those old stays are not designed to take that load back there. The Paragon tab looks pretty clean.

Not sure what it'll cost you, but I'd GUESS-timate something around $500-600.

    $500................screw that idea.

I've seen some bolt-on adapaters that DIDN'T have the long goofy looking arms that bolt onto the seat stays. However, I'm not sure how reliable they are or if the frame would be effected by the braking torque of discs.

If I was smart, I'd strip this bike down, and put the frame on a wall.

But, who ever said I was smart?

    Gotcha.

I dunno...................I just can't decide what I'm gonna do. I've got my single speed, and my Ibis. I try to ride the SS more, to save the Ibis, but some trails just don't cater to my lazy ass on an SS.

    Those canti posts

I'm building up a Ripley with disc brakes and am wondering what to do with the canti posts. Any suggestions?
