Put the Natural Carbon in the list, so we know something about relative preference color vs, no-color ...

Naked Carbon. The other colors just didn't seem to grab me enough to wait until mid-summer to get one.

    Tempted!

I keep being tempted by the colors, but then when I seriously consider having one I start to like my Naked Mojo.......sweet shop syndrome! I keep seeing orange or green motorcycles or blue road bikes and imagine the Mojo that color and think that would be cool for a day....but the next day? and on a mountain or in the woods? I'd have to apologise to the sheep!

I waited 10 weeks to get my green mojo. I love the color as much as I do the bike!

Green has my vote. Live a little, have some fun!

BUT The green sure looks incredible on this work of art of a frame all smooth curves and no welds!

(and I just got a phone call and my Mojo Natural Carbon is at the local store: a month early then expected )

Just before I took delivery of my Mojo in late November, Jason from Duke's Cycle in Toronto called to tell me that I could get a crack at an early production color frame they were getting. It was close, I almost went for orange. But I went for the naked, because its the one I fell in lust with online and I was sure it would be as great in person. It's even better. I think you can see the contours well enough to elicit drool from most everyone else.

The colors look great online, but without being able to see them and compare them for real it takes a leap of faith to commit for the long term. So I guess I have color commitment issues.

I really liked the photos of the Green Mojo because of the way it really seemed to bring out the beauty of the frame.

Still very happy with Carbon tho and If I was to buy another mojo (which I did recently for my wife) - it would be carbon again.

Personally, I'd take the green because it's such a flashy color which can't be mistaken for any other bike. I guess it depends on whether or not you like to be noticed.

So I am going crazy about what color to go with on my new bike. I have decided on the mojo and I have tentatively placed an order for an orange one. I was able to see the color in person at the lbs and it is a really nice color. The only negative is this that it is incredibly bright!! I almost feel like even though side by side I like the look of the orange I still feel like the nude may be a better choice. Some wierd sied of me thnks that it is just too unnatural to ride around in the woods on such a bright bike. I just don't know. Are mountain bikes supposed to be this loud?? On the other hand you probably wouldn't have to worry about being mistaken by any hunters!!! I know this is a personal decision but anyone dissatisfied out there with their panted mojo who can make a case for the nude??...

    Color Decision

I own a green Mojo. I personally struggled with my decision and went back and forth numerous times before I finally pulled the trigger on the green color. After ordering I was very nervous that I would not be happy with the green color.

I received the bike a few weeks ago. I love the color and I think it is part of what makes it such a sick bike. Everybody I have met loves the color - especially on this bike with it's curvy lines. I still remember watching the LBS pull it out of the box - it was beautiful then and it is beautiful now (even though it is quite dirty right now).

Go with the green or orange - you will love it.

    the weight of paint

I was in the same boat, with the colour thang, green or orange, orange or nude. but went for the nude after weeks of thought.

A ...the paint probably weighs around 2-300 gms,
B ...i can see the weave, if i crash i will be able to see any damage through the clear coat
C ...If i do need repairs, it will be easier to fix nakid, over a colour,
D....I like putting my bike in the rain forest, against a tree and standing back and admiring the contrast of nature, vs the high tech machine of man...and black is stealth..

I got the call from my lbs, pick it up tomorrow.....

I had a chance to see the guiness foam color today in person and it seemed to have a slightly green tint to it. Is this true of this color or was this one just a bit off tint? I am definitely a fan of the painted bikes now that I have compared them side by side in person. To each his (or her) own but I think it's going to be a painted one for me.

I ordered my Mojo in naked. That way the beuaty of craftmanship and design can be seen in the best way, to my opinion. If I was to choose a color I would choose green or orange, because these colors really show off. And that could be the only argument for me to pick a color.

I ordered blue it reminds me of the old S/E bmx bikes from the 70`s and 80`s I used to race. Plus I saw it at the bike show last year and really liked it. Black shows the dirt too much for me since I never clean my bike.

My Guiness Foam arrives tomorrow. I was seriously tempted to get a naked carbon as I always buy black. All my cars have been black and I currently have a black S-line TT, Touareg, a grey Giant Reign and a black Electra Straight Eight Cruiser I ride with the kids . When I saw the Guiness foam I just though wow, that's too prettry to ride. In the end I just thought I had to have it. Plus I'm Irish and anyone who actually names a color after one of my favorite beers deserves my vote.

Not going to be pretty when it gets all abused on the trials though.

I'm chiming in since I have changed my tune about naked carbon. I was in my LBS yesterday and they have naked, green, guiness, & blue Mojo's. I thought I liked the blue, but it's just TOO damn blue. The guiness has a yellow tinge too it, I was hoping for something more khaki-esque. The green(and probably the orange) are also pretty overwhelming. So now, I guess, I'm warming to the naked carbon. I'm not REALLY a fan, but it seems to be a better option than any of the colors.

Saaaaame here. I've had moments with each of these colors but in the end they are all either WAY too over the top (green & blue) like my old '80's Obermeyer ski jackets, or a hair too subdued in the case of the foam. Like you say, if the foam had a touch more saturation toward khaki I might have been down for it. In the end only the natural feels right.

I'm also a big fan of NOT painting frames if they don't really need it. All my current non-steel rides are natural, either buffed Ti (Mojo) or polished Al (Nomad).

Only my Spanky is wearing paint right now...

I have to agree with DB ad benja55 - I really want to like to blue but I find it as DB says a bit over the top. And my current frame is black and I would like a coloured frame but I just dont know when it comes to the Mojo. Im afraid that after some time I will get tired of the strong colours. I think Ibis should consider using some more quiet colours like fx Intense and Turner.

    Loud and Proud!

    PHP Code:

I agree that except for the Guinnes Foam, all the colors are over the top, and that is EXACTLY why I ordered the Eddy Orange!

When I roll up on that mega watt orange Mojo, I want strong reactions- love it or hate it- either way you WILL notice. Besides, there is nothing more trick than the way they masked off the nude carbon on the down tube to make the "Ibis" logo.

    Hello Sessionrider,

Tom from Ibis posting. Certain colors are more effected by the lighting than others - Guinness Foam is one of those. In artficial light the Foam color does reflect a greenish tinge. If you want to see what it really looks like you have go take it outside and into natural light. Hopefully, your dealer will allow you to do this, or at least take out the color sample ring we have provided them with.

Also, in response to the earlier posting about the weight of the paint. The estimate of the paint adding 200 to 300 g to the weight of the bike is way off. It's more like 100g max, and probably less.

    Happy Trails!

An entire F1 monocoque paint job weighs 500 grams so 200-300 for a frame is definitely an overestimate.

    FOAM all the way....

Here's the first of a couple pics.... this one's fresh out of the shop.

There's a reason why the Foam is ahead in the polls right now. It is a seriously classy color - rich and understated. If the flashy neons don't do it for you and the naked carbon is too much, you're probably gonna love the foam. For me it was love at first site.

    The opposite of understated

Yes, the Guinness Foam is a very understated color; undeniably classy. It reminds me of a fine British sedan, like a Jag XJ or a Rolls Royce. I wouldn't say the other colors are "neon" but I do agree they are bright! They remind me of the wild, solid colors that Porsche used to offer in the late 70's before metallic paints became the status quo.

I chose Eddy Orange because it is the opposite of understated. In fact, orange is typically a love-it or hate-it color. In other words, it inspires EMOTION! The Eddy Orange DOES do it for me. It radiates warmth and energy It looks fast just sitting there, and it will NOT blend in to the surroundings!

I'm so glad that Ibis decided to paint the Mojo. Now you and I can have color choices that reflect our personalities and personal tastes.

You chose a nice color and a REALLY great bike!

    Orange For Me

For months I thought I wanted a naked carbon until I saw the orange on the Ibis site and I was hooked. I have seen all the bikes except the guiness foam and I am still stoked about the orange. You are going to stand out in the crowd just by having a mojo but I would say be prepared to stand out alot more with a colored mojo. The color seems to bring out the curves more. When I'm standing around with a group of fellow bikers the orange just shines. As my friend said who has been biking for many years, "Damn, that's the most beautiful bike I've ever seen." By the way my wife wants a blue one.

Damn! It's like you read my mind! Everything you said has been my exact experience! (except the wife part, my wife doesn't ride ) A riding partner of mine said the exact same thing... "Damn, that's the most beautiful bike I've ever seen." and he has NEVER complimented anything before! He's one of those guys that acts like nothing phases him, but he couldn't resist the pull of the Mojo!
