Chain getting stuck on Mojo HD lower link.

I've had my chain stuck between the front lower link bolt and small chain ring quite a bit. The narrow 10speed chain just fits perfectly through the space and the chain can get jammed. If I don't realize it I will bend the chain when I go to pedal.

Just wondering if there's anything that can be put on the end of the lower link front bolt to close the gap a bit? Maybe IBIS has a fix for this?

I'm not interested in a chain guide because I need the triple, the XTR Derailleur is too expensive, and I have the chain as short as I can get away with.

So adjusting the derailleur range screw isn't an option?

    What about something like this?

    K-Edge Chain Catchers

I haven't tried any of these, but it looks like it would prevent your chain falling between the small ring and the frame. There's other designs too - search for "chain catcher".
Correct number of bikes: n+1 bikes
    Correct body weight: m-10 pounds

No, the derailleur is not the issue. It happens when I lose the chain on decents...

I have ordered the Chain Catcher and will see how it does...probably get the XT Shadow Plus when it comes out too.

I've had the same issue a couple times on my HD. Would be interested in a good fix if you find one.

Are you descending with the chain on the granny gear? How about flicking it to a bigger chainring to create less free chain.

No, I use the Middle or Large chain ring.

Here's the Chain Catcher installed. Fits great and I tried to force the chain off the chain ring by hand it seems to hold it in place.

Ahhh I see. I run a 2x9 and use the e13 Heim 2RS Chain Guide. It seems to work really well with no chance of the chain jumping in either gear.

I run a Triple and ride a lot of XC with the bike, so I'm not interested in a chain guide. This will not stop the chain from bouncing around, it just keeps it from jamming in between the BB and the Crank.

I'm still happy with it...no more stuck/bent chains. Works as advertised.

Thanks Canuck. Just fitted one to my new build. Pricey for what it is but worth it to protect frame.
