Fixed but no big announcement, I was hoping that you REALLY fixed it and I would be rolling on big wheels in a matter of days.

I don't regret for one minute for cancelling my order back in February and picking up a Spesh S-Works FSR 29er. At least I was able to get in a full season of riding instead of STILL waiting for the Ripley.

This bike is taking waaaaaaaay too long.

    Patience...

Look on the sunny side, you did not put a 100% deposit for your ripley!

    Tick-tock

I, as one of the patient potensial customers who have put our names down for the Ripley a long time ago, hope to see some more info on the bike and delivery soon. If the bike will not be delivered before the 2013 season starts (meaning for me some time in April), I think it is fair to let people know so that they can evaluate their options in good time. While I understand the policy of not disclosing info before the launch, I really hope to see some info soon.

    Thanks.

(coming from someone very unfamiliar with ibis) will these frames be nearly impossible to get this year? as in are most of them already spoken for/pre-ordered?

Sasquatch, Loch Ness Monster and Ibis Ripley.

Gave up long ago and got a Santa Cruz Tallboy LTc and love it. Ibis screwed the pooch on the Ripley.

According to Ibis, they are not taking orders until they have bikes ready to fulfill the orders. Shops may be lining up folks though. I think that that is up to them. A reputable shop should probably not take any money though until the order can go to Ibis.

Anyone know if Ibis will sell to an LBS that is not an official dealer? I do have a official dealer in town, but am ridiculously loyal to my LBS since they take care of me when it counts.

I think they are probably trying to "under promise and over deliver".

I'm beginning to think that the Ripley is just a genius marketing exercise to get everyone to look at their website & forum for 2yrs.

I love my DW bike (sultan) and I wish the tallboy was a little slacker like 68.5. The geometry on the yeti SB95 looks perfect. It will be hard decision between the SB95 carbon and the Ripley---if it ever comes out. Agree with you on Ibis screwing the pooch. They had ripley at Interbike in 2011 and still no release date.

Better to under promise and over deliver then to promise and never deliver. Every bike has been a waiting game and after time that becomes too much to take. I have an original carbon "Flexable Flyer" which I am over at this point,to many chain drops, chain suck, bent chains etc. Sent a note to them about getting a chain guide, told then I did not want to spend a lot of money. They wrote back that a new clutch derailleur which would require a new shifter etc... Never really answered my question and ignored the fact I said I have no money, kids in college and all. Was thinking about the Ripley but I give up. By the time this bike comes out it will be lost in a sea of 120 29ers, the only saving grace may be the eccentric pivots but unless they are beyond compare it will end up being a so what moment. My local shop is frustrated as are many of the customers. Sorry Ibis but the same game on every release is OLD.

I still have high hopes for the Ripley, but on the whole release business, it was interesting to read an interview with Scott Nichol in the latest issue of Switchback magazine where he said that he planned to start running Ibis more like Apple, meaning that customers are not likely to hear much about new bikes until right before the actual release.

You mean like with Santa Cruz and the Tallboy LTc?

I'm still waiting for the Ripley.... at least for now.

Hopefully Ibis has learned this lesson for the last time...
