142x12 is not a specialized standard, it's industry.

True, but the 142+ is proprietary to Specialized. The "+" refers to the hub having the driveside spoke holes, freehub/cassette being 2mm wider from center. They claim wider spoke placement = stiffer wheel. However that is also 2mm less clearance the cogs have with the frame on a normal 142 dropout. I know on my Ibis Mojo HD there is no way to get the 142+ hub to work in that frame.

Nice pics of Lopes and the guys at Ibis riding at Thanksgiving on the Ibis website. Looks like Brian is having a good time on his X-Fusion equipped Ripley.

It would be nice if they offered a Ripley "Special Blend" build with the X-Fusion stuff...hint, hint

    Hans,
The Ripley......Ibis is doing something bold & new, why not throw in something old and beloved? Give us the Ripley in Guinness foam color option. Also, for that color option only, put a beer bottle opener on the rear end of the derailleur hanger. JP

Have they posted the geometry yet? Hopefully Lopes influenced the numbers again and we see something around a 68 HA.

i doubt it will be that drastic. it started with 71 deg hta with angleset compatibility. Lopes may have convinced them to go a degree slacker (which would be nice), but I can't see it going beyond that.

Yep, sounds as if he may influence the numbers alright, shrinking the wheels about 3" or so:
@BrianLopes: Oh & rode my 26"mojo slr today & it was a nice reminder that 26" wheels r just more fun to ride. Much more lively, flickable, & snappier👍

The ol' website could use some updating now that it's 2013.

    Believe it or not. ;)

I'm sure the Ripley is going to be an awesome bike...someday.

I don't regret for one minute for cancelling my order back in February and picking up a Spesh S-Works FSR 29er. At least I was able to get in a full season of riding instead of STILL waiting for the Ripley.

This bike is taking waaaaaaaay too long.

They are no different than any other bike pivot bearings.
