    Trophy SS

    Hello,
After fighting with my ol' Schwinn the past couple nights, I'm ready to throw in the towel. I'm trying to make it more bike than it actually is. So, I'm thinking I may part it out, make a 150 or so in parts off ebay, and put that towards a new bike. I'm thinking a SS for all the SS reasons. And Ibex because of all the great things I've heard about them.
So, it seems the Trophy gets solid points and respect from everyone. Any more thoughts on the SS version? Ibex has a closeout sale for the Trophy SS about 500 bucks right now.
I wish I could try the size and fit, because my 17" frame fits like a glove, and it only comes in a 16/18". Anyone in Michigan have one I could possibly check out for size?

Well, I lack good search skills it seems:

Finally!!! Some pictures of the Trophy SS in the real world..SWEET..

    My Trophy SS Experience

I'm still interested in any additional input or thoughts. I really like the dropouts on the frame, it's the perfect solution. Sounds like a great bike, just what I was looking to read about!

According to the IBEX website the> Trophy SS is only> available in a 16"..

Things are most likely hectic over at IBEX due to the shipping that's taking place......
BUT, you could try an email info@ibexbikes.com or call 1-888-741-1464 to confirm stock/size..

    Good luck

    Jake..

    PS. It's definitely a beauty

The Trophy SS pictured below belongs to "feratson"

Yeah I'm waiting to see what Ibex has for the Trophy SS in 08' flavor. I really like the blue color of the 07 model though.....it would almost match my 07 Atlas Expert.

    She's arrived!

Well, I ordered my SS on Thursday morning, I scored the last remaining '07.5 SS from Ibex, so that was a good feeling. On Monday afternoon, the bike was sitting on my front porch! Damn quick! Job interviews and work delayed my assembly until tonight...
No ride report yet, just a few photos to share with you all. Even though it's a 16" frame, it's almost too big for me. Stand over height is barely two inches, so I may have to find a shorter stem to get the feel just right. Overall, I'm quite impressed though. After the rain/snow lets up for a few days, I'll take er' out for a spin. I can't wait for warm weather! Enough of my babbling, enjoy a few photos!

    so your the one.....

Upon hearing that these weren't going to be available for 08, I was hoping a few would last until spring when I usually have most of my excess money. Looks like you got not only the last one, but it is in my 16" size. I have since moved on after noticing the sold out on IBEX website, and I am thinking about an Iggy Super (I know, kinda went the other way there). Congrats on the new bike. SS is gaining a lot of popularity in this neck of the woods.

I was glad to pick up the last one! I had my old Schwinn sold before this one was even purchased. I had a nervous night thinking I was going to be bike less for a while!! That made me sad.
I added to the long stack of Ibex porn, thanks for the reminder Now, for some action shots...

Haha! I was worried someone else was going to pick this up before me! At that price, I knew it wouldn't last long, so I just went and ordered it. I really wanted an 08 SS as I really loved the components it was spec'd with, but the lack of availability sealed my choice with the 07.
I'm good at breaking things, so the SS is the best possible choice for me! I can't wait to start hitting the trails and really working myself with only one gear to use.

Well, I've had a good month or so of riding on my Trophy, and I figured I'd report back to all you Ibex freaks!

After having not ridden all winter (or done much of anything) I was pretty out of shape. I've since tightened up my diet and done a lot of riding, as well as some basic leg squats, push ups, etc. I've come a long way in a short time, but I still have a lot of room to improve. I'm signed up for a race on June 1 in a beginner's SS class. It's been great motivation to get out and ride after a long day of work. It's also been a fantastic way to keep my diet in line.

I must say, that my Trophy is holding up superbly. The gearing is perfect for the trails I ride. I could also use a little more top end speed, but I look at it as a chance to catch my breath and focus on the next section.

I spent this past weekend riding with some friends who I hadn't ridden with before, at 2 trails I'd never set foot on. I kept right on the tail of my friend Dave, who had two shocks and 26 more gears than I. He was even in my way on a few of the climbs! That was a great feeling and I'm quite sure he couldn't believe I was all over him.

Here's a few photos of that sexy blue I've grown to love!

It's been a steep learning curve (fitness wise). Otherwise, I feel like I'm back on a big bmx bike with great brakes and a squishy front end.

I forgot to mention how good the brakes are! My buddies had stopped to fix a flat so I thought I'd impress them and do a nice rolling endo. Well, it was a nice rolling endo until the last part when I had too much front brake, haha!
