What kind of bike for Oahu?

Am moving to Oahu in a month and am wondering what kind of bike I'll need. Currently have a DH bike for Whistler and a 29'er for the boring stuff back home in SoCal. After a bit of research, it seems that the all-mountain bikes such as the Mojo HDR, Nomad, and Carbine would be best for Oahu? You guys have some extreme trails, can't wait.

Dood, bring all. That Whistler thing makes me wonder if we could do a trail down Kaala...north side of course.

Is anyone making it down the Kealia single track clean? Would love to see it.

See you on the trails Amigo's

You will like the 29er for most of the rooty stuffs. Wicked trails? Hawaii? Serious?

Yeah, there are a few spots. But there are those spots most places you go though. Most local trails are full of root. Muddy most of the year and narrow single tracks. If you can hook up with empty_beer, he can show you the spots. Where are you staying at?

Smooth. I like the trial moves around the switch back.

You try walking up the farm road and doing the full peacok flat with the big bike?

If you are ever in north CA, hit me up. There is a place like this in pacifica call Crack/ Mile. Love to show it to you.

    Looks like a hiking trail?

This is a black XC trail in Whistler Valley (not part of the mountain park):

Footage is of Sessums at Kealia; I'm nowhere near as smooth. We've ridden up the pavement, across the top and down the 19-switchbacks a few times - about twenty miles round-trip.
