    Moving to the Big Island

    Moving to the Big Island-sedona.jpg

Moving to the Big Island the first week of November and will be there for a couple of years. Bringing two of my bikes and look forward to riding the local trails with the local crew.

Will be working at Waikoloa and finding a place to live is on my to-do list when I get there. Are you by Hilo or Kona trails?

Hey Moose, gmats here. You working at Waikoloa Resorts or Village? I know a lot of people who work out there at the Waikoloa live in the Village. Windy, sunny but almost always dry. There's riding to be had in Kona (Kaloko) and Kalopa (outside of Honoka'a). We (myself and the boys from Hilo) definitely will get something together.

Looking forward to it! I will be working at the Orchid in Mani Lani and the Village is my preferred place to find a house to rent (put kids into Village Elementary).

I was out there in September before accepting the job and did some road riding up and down the coast with the Bike Works crew (mostly Rich and Winona). Also rode the new Saddle Road climb. I was helping Oakley set-up a MTB Demo for Ironman week and went to Kalopa Park and Mana Road to scout so I saw the locations but did not have a bike to explore.

Looking forward to getting back with my bike and the family is not moving out until January so most of my free time will be riding.

Vern at Bike Works Kona told me about Kaloko but I have not been there yet.

I'm Hilo side. Sounds like you visited a couple of the places we ride already. I hope you can make it out to the east side so we can show you Kulani Trails.
