    Koa seat post

Just got my new seat post for my current build. As you can see it's made out of curly koa and is a bit on the heavy side. I wanted something different and would also add a little more island flavor to my bike. Hope you enjoy.

I'm hoping that's veneer over carbon fiber. If not I think that Koa is going to end up as a suppository.

Actually it was a solid piece of curly koa from Kauai. The center of it was drilled out the entire length and a aluminum rod was epoxied in to it. Trust me this post is stong. That's why it weight's so much. I'm actualy having another post made out of koa but with a tiki carved into it.

That reminds me of the Callaway Hickory Stick golf club. They thought it would be cool to make a hickory shafted sand wedge and they epoxied a steel shaft down the center. Every single one split. You see, no matter how you treat it, wood still moves, metal not so much. Good luck though!

I hate you for having such a sick bike...

You need to bring that to the 24 hour on Oahu in September so I can man-handle it...for real: that is goregeous. Every part of it!

I just got an e-mail from Leni and my frame is done. So in a couple week's she'll be built up and I'll be posting pic's of her with a build list and weight's of the part's. I know the bike will be under 20lbs and yes it will be ridden. I didn't spend over 15k just to sit and look at it.
