Help with maui rides
Coming to Maui in June, wanting to get a ride or two in. So far, i have had a hard time knowing what trails are open or will be by then. Looking for opinion on the "cant miss this one " type rides and where to rent gear. Would liek to do Skyline just to say i did it, but would like to find other options as well. Appreciate your help.
1. Makawao Forest Reserve-lots of trails-any shop can point you there.
2. Poli Poli-if it's still closed from the top you can park below the gate and ride up the road a couple miles to the trails
If it is open and you're shuttling to the top and don't intend to stop in the park (Haleakala National...you have to go through it to get to Skyline) tell the ranger at the gate you're accessing Skyline and you won't have to pay park fees.
