I never knew what "freeride"was so Thanks for the vid. But really if FR is putting the foot down when I turn, and catching 1 second of air....well thanks but I'll keep doing the XC.

...'cause you've just realized you've been free-riding all along?

Sounds like someone has never actually caught "one second of air"!
There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

you know how much airtime 1 second is? it is ridiculously huge. pastranas x-games double backflip was a second and change.

Not really ridiculously huge, it's not "small", but as you can see, there's a difference between
going far and going up. I also feel there's not a big difference between big and huge as fat
    as hang time is concerned.

Anyway, here's a few 1+ second jumping in these vids.

    There's a lot of 1+ sec here.

one of my favorite places for 1+ seconds of air

and a little under 3 seconds here

Exactly! There are plenty of 1 second gaps that will scare the crap out of you in person. Sitting at your computer it looks easy and doable, but when the time comes to man-up, most riders will take the chicken line.

"Phuzz..." is clueless! Just 'cause he looks like (Fabien) Cancellara doesn't give him credibility.

When I first saw it I didn't think it was as far as it was when I watched it again. Very nice. Haven't jumped anything like that since I was a kid on my BMX bike. Right now I'd be one of those chicken line guys. Hopefully, that will change soon.

Ah hell, I'll go back and watch it again but only after I spend some quality airtime up here at Sun Peaks Canada. Until then Merry Christmas!

Although I prefer DH/FR, I ride XC as well. It's great crosstraining.
