    Haro shift discontinued?

I was at my lbs today which primarily sells the Haro brand. I was trying to find out more information about the Shift r5 and was told that Haro would be discontinuing its line of Shift bikes for 2012? Can anyone confirm this? I am planning on upgrading to a DS bike in August and the Shift was one of the bikes that I was considering. Thanks in advance!

    Bummed out in San Diego.

I haven't heard it but it would not surprise me. In recent years Haro seems to focus a lot more on BMX and a lot less on MTB. Soon they are going to be just like Redline and completely give up on full suspension.

Yes! No full suspension bikes for Haro next year, maybe awhile. Buy a 2011 shift if you want one.

How do the 09 Shift r5 Rate. I looking at possibly picking one up in the new year. From what i read they seem pretty stout.

I have a 2008 Shift R3, and i love it! still pretty much stock.
This bike is of course meant for XC, but i'm a bit aggressive with it. feels confident, even in the really rough stuff. I'm trying to find out if i can put an angleset on it to slacken the headtube angle a bit. (don't know if it is compatible.) The rear shock is a little bit of a pain to get to the right setting, so if you need to change the setting on the fly, it could take a bit of work, but if you're like me, you do pretty much one kind of riding at a time.

found out the angleset won't work, i guess it can't work with 1 1/8" head tubes. shucks

Hi Rooney, I dont know if you still plan to use an angle set, but the Works Components 1 deg. angle head set fits the Shift frame. I have it on my bike. It makes the bike turn on a larger radius, but steadies handling on downhills.

Thanks for the info! I'll look into that, though I think the next thing i'm going to do is to get a shorter stem.
