New question here. Your Opinion on 2008 GT Chucker 3.0 Disc

    Hello Everyone.

I need alittle help, I have a young brother that wants to ride w/ me on trails He's 14 & have some kind of wal-mart bike, I'm a little worried about his bike so I plan on getting him the GT Chucker 3.0 Disc @ Performance becuase I have a tight budget.

What do you guys think of this bike...?
I was also considering the GT Avalanche 3.0 Disc w/ discount.
I would have to order it online & ship it since theres no Performance Store close by.

Upgrade what you need, not what you Want.

The chucker is more of a dirt jump bike. It's built very strong to take the hits of jumping and it has a different geometry. If your brother is going to do more riding than jumping, you are better off with the Avalanche. They are both nice bikes but the chucker is more specific to jumping. go to GT's website if you haven't already and view them both and decide.
Still loving my GT's!! find me on the "GT Bike Group" page on FB. I hardly ever hang out in here anymore.

Yeah i would call the chucker more of a stunt type bike, maybe even good for downhill riding. Not quite a trail bike or for XC. Avalanche is definitely a good option.
