Ok, I just got a new dualie as a self present, the Zaskar 100 9r expert 2012. Previous to that i had the 2003 I drive 2.
So why the heck do I get alot of cheers on the road or trail? More than my old bike (ie zero). Definitely not me - I'm dull to look at - so must be the bike...I checked myself to make sure I haven't split my shorts or something weird though.
Whats the go with the Zaskar? How do you guys feel about the DS version? Why don't i hear about this bike much on magazines or sites?
I've lamented about that very same thing elsewhere on this forum- there's next to no info about the Z100 9r on the web. There's no demo program, and the local Performance Bike doesn't keep them in stock, so I couldn't even try one on for size. I'm a long time GT fan and I love my Force. I needed a new XC race bike and was interested in the Z100, but I wasn't going to throw down that kind of dough without some good info backing my decision. Finally, after about a year I gave up. A month ago I bought a Jet 9 RDO (wonderful bike). Then this review appears from Outside. If I'd seen this before buying the Jet would I have gotten the Zaskar instead? I sure would've thought about it.
I can certainly say its worth the bike. I have the medium and I am about 5'8, I too found the stock setup to upright so I simply flipped the stem and is perfect. I also found the seat too close so changed to a setback seatpost of 20mm and feels like my roadbike.
I would like someone's input with the suspension and air as I find it not as plush as my 2003 I drive but I think it's the fox shox maybe
