    STS Rear Shock

Does anyone know of a good bolt in replacement for the rear shock?

If your STS has the trunion mounted shock, the choices out there are limited. There were some GT LTS models that came out that had a Fox Alps trunion mounted shock on them. I saw one on ebay not long ago, but they don't come around often. You could also try calling Risse to see if they still make replacement shocks http://www.risseracing.com/airshocks.shtml.

I don't know if you wanna go back with another rockshox, but if yours is completely shot and you were looking to get back riding as soon as possible (and cheaply), icyclesusa.com has the Rockshox coupe deluxe for only $15.

There was also a thread a long time ago about a poster who modified a Cannondale Jekyll Fox shock to work on the LTS. It was really a slick job and I liked it, but that's not exactly a drop-in replacement...

Thanks but I am not certain what "trunion mounted" means.

This is a trunion mount shock. Earlier LTS models came with an eye-to-eye shock, but your bike should have a shock like this one. I think all the STS bikes had them.

Thanks. Yes that is the shock that I have. I guess that I am limited in my options unless I change something. I am quite handy with a TIG welder.

Does anyone know if this shock will work in a Cannondale Jekyll?

Also, read up on this thread...

Passion reborn, 1997 GT LTS-1, how good?

Pyrock...I dunno if the LTS shock would work on your Jekyll...maybe you could read up on the second thread and maybe reverse-engineer it? Good luck!
