    Rebuilding a 2000 GT XCR 5000

I have a 2000 GT XCR5000 inherited from my brother that I'm trying to rebuild as a backup bike. Upon tearing the whole bike apart I noticed that the Threads on the I-drive are stripped something awful. I was wondering if the I-Drive system is the same throughout the GT full sussers, or if the system is different in the various models. Any advice, wisdom, etc would be greatly appreciated. Also, If anyone has any parts of the bike lying around (namely the I-Drive, bottom bracket, Crankset) that they would like to unload, please let me know.

    Thanks alot and happy riding.

You'll get a better response in the GT forum.

there are some bottom brackets for old Idrives like that on eBay for really cheep. and as far as i know they are the same per model year, it was all the same design till they made the new style in like...actually idk when but if it had the HUGE bottom bracket then they have them real cheap on ebay..like seriously for 8 or 9 bucks

    There are differences.

The XCR i-drives have have ball bearings held in a race.

The second generation, which were designated i-drive 0.0 / 1.0 etc have sealed cartridge bearings.

You'll be wanting the XCR one.
