So I had some time to work on my 96 LTS-2 this weekend.

overall, I’ll really happy with how it turned out.

iended up getting Judy triple crown fork that I polished up to match the rest of the bike, it’s got front and rear disc brakes, and to my surprise I’m liking the yellow cable housing, lol.

I know.. I know... this is MTBR

but being GT lovers... I figured someone would be able to appreciate my latest project.

Found a 1994 GT Edge on craigslist a few months ago for dirt cheap. Bought a complete 2011 SRAM Rival build kit off eBay for a GREAT price...

and viola

My New 2011 Avalanche 2.0 & 2008 Avalanche 2.0

Just purchased the newest addition to my GT fleet. Another great riding bicycle. The only thing I do not like about the bike is the way the cables are attached. The frame does not have standard cable ferrell stops. The cables attach to the frame via cheap clips. Not sure what GT was thinking on this one!

Agreed, it's very annoying. I had to put hockey tape after almost falling when one of the cables went off while pedaling..It's a little "ugly" but I feel way safer. Less head rotation movement too but it doesn't matter since this is not a freeride bike anyway..

My latest project

My first "real" bike was a GT Outpost. I rode the snot out of that bike. I replaced the forks twice before it was stolen.
Fast forward a couple of decades, I still hanker for triple triangle love and found this frame on Craigslist for $40.
It is a alloy frame with a U brake and one piece drop outs that date it around '91/'92, so I am thinking Pantera? Zasakar would be awesome, but I am not that lucky. Looking forward to stripping it and building a fixed/single speed out of it.

:madman:I can't post pictures until I have 10 posts:madman:
The serial number on the inside of the dropout is H2AO1846

Would have to be a 92 Pantera by the serial number. Which shows it was Hodaka built in 92 and the fact it has a u-brake.

My GT Peace

Here's my GT,
Wasn't sure how SS would feel after being used to gears for such a long time, pretty much stock standard, I have recently changed the front to a 29er and I must say I like the ride.
My other bike is a hardtail but I keep coming back to my SS.

GT Pantera model 95... or so

Hi guys. Here is a pic of my old GT Pantera (re-painted 2 times due to heavy scratches from... hard falls :D)
I bought just the frame from a guy during 1997, and i added everything else by myself. Original color was blue and worn out, so i removed it and re-painted in GT yellow.
Weels: Mavic 217 SUP + DT Hugi spokes + Shimano STX-RC hubs
Fork: Manitou Magnum R
Brakes: Shimano Deore XT + Deore LX levers
Derailleur: Front and rear Shimano STX-RC + STX levers
Cassette Sprocket: Shimano STX-RC (HG, 8 sprockets)
Crank: Deore LX
Pedals: Shimano PD-M434 (SPD)
Steer: Icon + Ritchey
Headset: Orbit FSA XLII
Saddle: VETTA Lasar leather + kevlar + titanium rails
I like very much the frame, is long (i feel very safe in strong climbs) and stiff. Rims are heavy worn out after 14 years of use from the pads of V-brakes. It is a chance for an upgrade with disk brakes!!! If i have money left over :D
Glad to meet you GT freaks.
Greetings from Greece

Here is my i-drive, bought it brand new.... Anyone know the model name for this, XCr? It doesn't have the logo on the frame.

It originally had a RockShox Judy fork and Syncros wheels with v brakes. I couldn't remember the specs I thought it was 3.5" travel.

Photobucket
It's a 2001 GT i-drive 4.0.

Look it up here : BikePedia - 2001 GT iDrive 4.0 Complete Bicycle

Nice bike :)

XCR where the name for the 1999 and 2000 year models. Then they used "i-drive" for many years. That paint scheme in blue/white is really nice. Almost same as my 2000 XCR 3000. No offense, but I preferred the blue/white of the '00, but with your current fork, it's a really nice match that compense the lack of white in the back
