Can you help me identify my GT?

New to the site...have owned my bike for 5-6 years. Its a GT...i think 96 GT...looks alot like STS-1000 DS? . Serial number on the bottom is: 029600319 18. Apparently I cannot post the pictures until I have 5 posts. I got from my brother who owed me some cash. It has served its purpose. Just like to climb and get a workout, not a hardcore mtbkr but have been riding since I was 12. Kind of into the old school thing but also like the technology in the newer bikes! Was thinking of getting rid of it and starting new....having said that if you can help me identify what I have (excuse my lack of knowledge) and if you are interested in buying let me know. On the other side of the coin if you had this bike would you dial it in with new parts and tech? Let me know what ya think...much appreciated.

    My new Zaskar

Here's a few shots of my new GT. The paint is called cosmic sunrise. Wheels are mavic 217 sunset laced to Pulstar 32h hubs and 14g ss spokes wrapped with WTB velociraptors. Fork is a Marzocchgi Z2 bomber that needs to be rebuilt. Drivetrain is Race Face next cranks with an XTR M952 rear derailleur. I have a set of Kookas I am going to be sending out for reanodizing so itn will match the Kooka stem. Braking is XTR m950 levers and XTR M951 brake arms. Still looking for a Kooka seatpost for her. Hope you enjoy.

Tons of nice bikes on here! My first GT was a vintage Tequesta, and my newest is a Craigslist find: 1999 GT Aggressor, minty, low miles, one scratch on the top tube. Got her home yesterday, rinsed off 10 years of storage dust and grime, pumped up the tires, adjusted the brakes and deraileur, and she rides like a dream. The original owner was a Marine who left for Afghanistan after riding the bike a couple of times, when he came back, the bike went into storage. Time to upgrade the el-cheapo factory stem, bars, and pedals!

Still brand new and I've already added:
    • Joplin 4,
    • Easton Havoc 50mm stem
    • Sunline V1 762mm bar

Will start riding it this weekend hopefully after all my school shiza is finished.
