    hey guys ,

    Here's my 1999 GT Aggressor 1.0. Just about everything is stock except for a few bits replaced due to wear. I stripped the decals a long time ago and think it looks great bare, especially with the little red brake arms and panaracer tire sidewalls. It's not normally run with flat pedals or that monster fork, but I don't have my Heckler frame yet so I was trying to tune the 'Zoke All Mounain 1 to my weight on the GT. (Surprisingly, the head angle doesn't feel ridiculous, and I could actually see running a slightly shorter, maybe 130mm fork on this bike regularly.) I have many wonderful memories on this bike, and will likely still take it out from time to time after I get my Heckler. Mostly, though, it will be a loaner to bikeless friends.

    Does anyone know where I can get a Zaskar Team Frame 2005 model in Large? I have checked many LBS and rang up GT in Melbourne and they only have a Medium left....

    one of my buddies saw my bike and wanted to get the same but we had to go to the UK to get a frame for him
    as there are heaps of shops over there with them in stock.

    You pay as much for the freight as what the frame costs ,so expect about $700Aus. all up.

    More than two decades ago, I been a BMX raider, and GTs the majority of my bikes I'd use at that time; The famouse race bike Mach one, freestyler's Performer, Pro performer and the last one I'd had... a precious World cup, but few years later, a new sport arrive to my life... the great mountain bike since 1986, I'd been an hardtail bikes raider, but the time changes for better, and now, I'm full suspended by the hand of Gary Turner again, so here is my GT I drive Team, this bike it's a blast, and I love that feel.     My GT IDXC 2.0

    My first GT (not counting my buddy's early 80s chrome BMX model which became my responsibility after I was careless with it in the 8th grade and it got stolen): 2004 IDXC 2.0. I bought it online—first complete bike I've bought online—so there was minor assembly. Strangely, it's nearly stock, except for tires, Easton carbon Monkey bar risers and a longer Ritchey stem. Took it out for the the first time yesterday and it performs as well as the other few bikes in the stable right now—in some ways better. Most of those other bikes are custom builds form the frame up. I'm very impressed so far.

    Hi Wongsifu, you got a really nice IDXC 2.0.
    I like the set up..
    Most of our riders here use santa cruz, superlight and blur. Lately few of them change to commencal. I still few like GT is worth considering, i will get a full sus bike later.

    Don't be fooled with this sticker. The frame is taiwan made, but designed in the USA.
    I owned the same frame and I posted a picture of it broken some time ago.

    Thanks. I had a 1998 Santa Cruz Heckler that I built from the frame up for a few years. Lots of fun, but I got rid of it for a bike with disc brake bosses in the rear (V-brake bosses only). Good bike, similar in many ways to this GT, but not as sensitive suspension-wise.

    Here is my 2000 GT Outpost. I have been riding it hard for 5 years now and it has never failed me. No big time modifications other than a new rear wheel and a 06' Rock Shox Judy J4, many small mod's like grips, tires, brakes, etc. I will never replace this bike!

    I have been riding this Zaskar race for almost 3 years.

    Just upgraded to disc brake, shimano deore hydraulic M555...

    My bike setup,,,
    Mavic 217 sup(1996), with xt m-756(2003) hub. Just respoked the wheels.

    Lx shifter, xtr cogset, xt crank and rear D, deore front D.

    marzocchi MZ race fork, 100mm travel,(The sid 100 have a bad oil leak)

    Tyres, Hutchinson python airlight.

    I have a marzocchi xc 400 shock on my gt mb, you guessed it, the shock was recalled back in 94, dur to the heads breaking. I was given the shock in 99 and my local bike shop put it on for me. I haven't rode it much since but have started recently due to a foot injury (I'm a trail runner). Now I want to replace it cause I just found out it was recalled 12 years ago, and I don't want to crack my head open if the thing busts when I land after a drop on a trail some day. My local bike shop can't find a threaded steerer tube to fit it, to change it over to another fork, Marzocchi don't have a head to fit it, and I really don't want to spend $250 to change the bike over to a non threaded tube fork, The bike is 14 years old. Any Ideas???

    aggressors represent!

    not much original on this 1995 (i think) except the frame, shifters, crank and front derailleur. the shifters are modified, since i had to cut off the brake levers when i upgraded to avids, but i'm still rockin' the 7 speed.

    upgraded the entire front end, new wheels and tires. when i got the bike, i wasn't hip to bike fit, so against the bike shop dude's advice, i said i wanted the biggest aggressor in the place. the bike is a little big for me, but i've been able to get it comfy, and enjoy riding it. i'll never get rid of this one.

    My 2002 I-Drive 1.0

    This is the I-drive which I really liked. I love the brushed aluminum and the gold and yellow accents. This frame was replaced by the 2004 1.0 I posted a while back. It was under warranty (thanks LBS and GT). I still wish I could find another one on ebay. sniff sniff

    some help here... just bought this but cannot work out what year or variant. the sticker by the front mech looks like it might show that last three digits of 6061 which i believe was american made. from about 99/00. join on downtube near the head looks quite neat.

    whaddya think?

    I happened to own some GT stuff: arrowhead '97 , backwoods '98, zaskar '02 which I broke. Wife also had palomar '98 as a first bike.

    Xizang & Timberline

    Hi all, I'm sort of new here (first post). Thought I would start by posting a few pictures of my bicycles..

    I've had the 1998 Timberline since it was new, although it spent its first year in the bicycle shop. Bought it 1999.



    The gray GT in the background, is my brother's 1996 GT Talera. Used as an all-season commuter for years, then neglected and put in the garage for years.. You can figure out the rest If you can't, see the pic below..



    Let me point out some parts that could use an upgrade. Fork, frame, wheels, tires, chain, crankset, cassette.. The seat post and saddle still works, the handlebar is Ok.



    GT Xizang.



    I've compared the frame with pictures from GT catalogs, and the main difference is the head tube is smaller than the newest Xizangs. And brake wire guide on the seat tube for older cantilever brakes. So I figure it's a mid 90's Xizang. Anyone expert enough to determine which year?

    What's the serial number on your xizang? It can be determined by that.

    It appears as though yours was re-badged/re-decaled. I searched all the catalogues from 91-98 and don't see that model decal (top tube) pictured any of those years. May be a 99 decals on an older frame. The GT decal was never placed that high on the downtube either. The first two digits are the frame size. I'm just guessing but think it's a 96 looking at the weld lines at the bottom of the chain stays.

    Yes, that's what I figured. But I'm planning to re-decal it myself anyway. I have two different sets of decals for it, those you have on your Xizang and yellow/blue like this frame currently being auctioned on eBay:

    By the way, that frame looks like it's been dented on the chainstays.. Or am I seeing stuff that aren't there?

    My Frame? Not a dent anywhere. It's mint. Must be the way the light is hitting it or a reflection. Go with the Yellow and Blue decals. I think you'll find the yellow ones won't go on very well due to their age and they are tough to keep looking nice. My son has the yellow and blue ones on his bike and they do hold up much better. Just words from past experience. Being a 91 mine of course has rear u-brake bosses but also has an nternally routed rear brake cable which makes for a clean, sweet looking frame.

    Same vintage as above, 1991 Avalanche. Not much stock left in her except frame, entire drivetrain, seatpost, handlebar & grips. Great bike though. Weighs less than most new aluminum bikes, which I find kind of pathetic.
