I did not mean my post to offend anyone. So sorry. I wasn't trying to degrade GT at all, far from it. And yes, GT bicycles are sweet looking rides!!

    Fella's....EEEEZIE...eezie.

I didn't take offense at anything. See what I mean about true fans, Kona?

Anyway. GT has been the victim of some crappy, shady corporate crap over the years, turning a good company into just another growth-through-acquisition corporate division. It's sad. I think the issue here is that some trolls use this to say their products suck, thus the knee-jerk reaction. Don't worry about it, I don't think you're trolling, or even fishing.

This has turned out to be a great bike. I bought it for $200 and it has lasted great. I have run into trees, gone off drops and basically riden the ever-loving crap out of it. Great buy!

    my 2004 GT I Drive 1.0

This a great ride. Weight is around 28 to 29 lbs. and I really like it. This was my 3rd warranty replacement and so far it has held well. Weekend ride at Moab and a whole racing season in Oklahoma. 4th place beginner.

You got a beautiful setup on your bike Jorgito, but isn't the seatpost a bit too high?

Thanks for the compliment Carlos. Yep I do keep the seatpost a little high since here in oklahoma we ride mostly cross country level trails than downhill trails. The way I took the picture also makes the seat look higher. You can kinda tell that the rear wheel is higher than the front if you look at the picture real good. I did have to put the seat down for my ride at Porcupine Rim in Moab. What do you ride Carlos?

    Zaskar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I built this bike up from a frame I found on eBay. XT/XTR components, Avid mag brakes, Sram Rocket shifters, Judy forks with a Total Air upgrade. Carbon Fiber seat post. Can anyone identify the approximate year of this Zaskar model from the color?

    GT Karakoram

Here's a classic: Bought the bike used in "94 or '95 (foggy college years), Shimano LX (8 speed) components with a 7 speed cassette, new cranks, original rims one araya one mavic, 2000 manitou SX-r fork, new bars, seat and some other stuff. I currently own 2 Schwinn FS bikes and still take this one out occasionally for the memmories. It is still a strong and fun ride.

These are really great, guys, I have two Panteras, one is 1987 vintage, a steel frame, and the other is an aluminum one, 1995 vintage. I'll have to get some shots of them and post them for you.
