Awfully modern seeing as how it has disc brake mounts.

Avalanche circa 2010 would be a good starting point for research. Search for old GT catalogues online.

Hard to tell much from the photo, other than the tell-tale superfluous triangle that says "GT".
    Don't call it a gooseneck.

They had some Zaskars with disc mounts and bosses back around 2000 - 2001.

Bikepedia has a pretty good pic of the 2010 Avalanches. The dropouts look different than a 2010 Avalanche 3.0, and the 2010 Avalanche 3.0 has a brace between the stays back near the dropout which his frame does not. The rest of the 2010 Avalanches are disc only models with no rim brake bosses on them.

Apparently you haven't noticed his encyclopedic knowledge of GT's. I'd bet his knowledge against pretty much anyone else in the world.
