My next winter project a nice GT STS XCR 1000

    i love it....

you can tell that is a really good bike, when the name is written on the end of the top tube.

Sweet frame! I almost bought one new back in 2000' but chose the XCR-LE iinstead. I was fearful of the aluminum lugs joined at the composite tubes being a weak point. But after all these years I never heard anybody claim a failure. BTW yours looks to be NOS (new old stock) where did you find it? Back in the day this bike and my LE were both at the top of the GT lineup. They were both hand built at the Santa Ana plant and both were sold built up for $4,200.00

I've been looking for one of those for a while and it looks like you grab a small too. I'm riding a 1999 xcr 1000 and have wished that I had grabbed the sts xcr 1000 but it was too far out of my price range at the time. I've seen 2 for sale but they were larges, my search continues. Please post pics as the build moves forward.

Has it been used? It looks to be unused and in like new condition. Either way that is a killer deal. Like I said earlier I almost bought one new in 2000' and the frame was $2000.00 and sold built up for $4200.00. I opted for the XCR-LE instead. Same price but a more proven design (all aluminum). The STS frame was very exotic for its time add the i-drive system and there wasn't much else available that came close. I probably would have bought one but team GT were on the LE so that swayed me over. I keep us posted on the build

I realize this is really late to chime in on but I may have a 99 sts xcr 2000 for sale if anyone is interested.

Damn that bike is nice. I'd like to get it so bad for the hell of me, but let's say I'll have to wait a while before I can get another bike in

The fork would look very good on my current bike though. What are the specs and how much you want for ?

    Thanks

the cracks would be on top of the weld, in the front - not on the sides or the bottom of the seat mast.

    GT STS XCR-2000-spcifications-

Completely stock! These should be the specs. Suspension probably needs servicing. I honestly have no idea what to ask for a 13 year old bike ahead of its time that was too expensive to begin with... but is in great shape!!! Anyone else know what something like this should go for? Shoot me pm offers.
