    Just In! 09 Sanction Frameset!

just came off the truck.. and MAN is it beautiful... two things that worry me, the rear maxle does not go in easily due to a slightly offset axle path (it squeaks alot when I'm screwing it in and has left marks on the maxle on the lever side.) and the second not so much, looking down the HT there are a few burrs from where the downtube and toptube connect.. should I file them down or is it not needed? Pics will be up soon.

I wouldn't worry too much about either, unless it's actually impairing function. If you can post a picture, I'd like to see how far off the axle path really is. It may have been damaged in shipping, or it may just be a manufacturing error. It's probably within tolerances and is probably not a safety issue.

I'd only file down the burrs if they interfere with the steer tube on your fork.

That hole is a bit worrisome. I don't think it'll fail catastrophically, but it does say "this weld wasn't made properly." If it were my bike, I'd be thinking about a warranty at this point.

x2. It should be sent back. You'll be saving yourself headaches and time.

On the maxxle, you should try and loosen up the replaceable dropouts. It may just be a slight missalignment that could be causing that. If you are really iffy about the hole, then send it back. I personally wouldn't because it is pretty tiny. I'd get something to plug it though. I would send it back because you may have 3 different issues including the burrs. If the maxxle never lines up properly you may have disc brake issues as well. Your whole tire will be out of alignment and that to me is a bigger issue than the hole.
