    Helion 29 conversion

Hey all, I thought I would share my latest project as there have been some people like me who would love to ride a Helion or Sensor 29er. I have both bike and have converted both but this thread will be the Helion (I have converted the sensor back but put a 150mm fork on it and love it). Below are pics of the bike, tire clearance, BB height, and weight built the way I wanted. There are plenty of places to shave weight and I could easily get it below 23lbs with a regular seatpost, lighter fork, and lighter pedals (weight pictured is with XTR, I have since switched it to Xpedo and am now below 24#). It is built with a Fox 2014 120mm 51mm offset fork so the BB height could be lower, but with this configuration the headtube angle is currently 68 degrees. The rear tire is an Onza Canis 2.25 which is pretty true to size, so plenty of tire clearance.

So far so good. I am going to try it with a 130 fork and 27.5 wheels as well. I like a little slacker headtube than the stock 69.5 and I want to try both wheel sizes back to back.

Overall, I really like the feel and ride of the AOS suspension and I think this bike is pretty amazing with the bigger wheels.

I disassembled a 2015 Helion Comp in XL. The frame with rd hanger, Xfusion Shock, and cable guides came out to 7.16 lbs. Just an FYI.

Or 27.5 rear and 29 front that will help slacken it out. If you have all of it why not try.
