I have a 95 GT tempest that I have had since 99. It has been a really great bike over the years. I put it down back in 2003-2004. I started back riding about 2 months ago. Unfortunately though, I noticed I cracked the head tube. It is 7005 aluminum and from what I am being told, even if I get it welded, it just might not be safe. Sooo I might be in the market for a new bike really soon as I am really enjoying being back riding. I found a Tequesta hard tail with rock shocks locally for pretty cheap that I am calling about tomorrow. It looks to be chromoly frame. Does anyone know about how much the Chromo bikes weight? my Tempest is pretty light. At anyrate, here are the pics of my Tempest.
And the cracked head tube
