I have a new gt sensor 1.0 Its a 2010 that I bought new several months ago. I've trail/mtb ridden her for about ten to 15 rides of about 3 hours each. When should I service her? Any recommendations for shops in Miami fl?
I do my own work so I can't really be objective. At that mileage I changed the oil in the front fork,adjusted bearing preload on the suspension,adjusted cables,bled brakes,adjusted headset,and went over all the fasteners.I also lubed the orings in the front wheel bearings(the adapter part)and pulled the seatpost and lubed it.I have a sensor 2.0
much thanks...did you do all that work because gt recommended?
Or, are you a bit anal, which I surely can appreciate. I'm a motorcycle guy, but have ZERO time to work on, so I will likely take somewhere. On motorcycles you can go several years on fork fluid and brake fluid, but we recommend once a year on brake fluid. Let me know, thanks!!:thumbsup:
i am more than a bit anal about maint.I change brake fluid on my car and truck every year also.the reason i recommend doing the fork is some forks come with a lesser amount of oil than is supposed to be in there and Fox recommends lubing the rings under the seals.. Mine was one that was low on oil The brake fluid beacuse the guys at the bike shop where you bought it and they assembled it were probably paid by the piece instead of by the hour and they might not be as careful as you or I.
gotcha, still hoping someone knows a good trustworthy place here. I have two shops close by. One here forever, old school tech not sure how good on new stuff...newer more progressive shop with a fairly young tech, flip side, how familiar is he with the 'advanced' stuff. Thanks for reply.
Take it to Mack Cycle... be sure to ask for Roberio.. Former USA team traveling race tech...
He really knows his sh!t... Make sure to deal with him...:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Is he the 'old man'? Older tech is supposed to be retiring from their soon...I think they're good, I'll take your work, someone slammed them though on THIS forum! So I'm a bit concerned, but do appreciate what they do!
Ask to speak with Roberio (hes the Brazilian Dude, he really knows his sh!t) he's not the old man... on what forum did they slam them, I go there with all my bikes and I've yet to have a problem... Just curious to know...Thanks
GOOD LUCK :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
