New question here. 2008 Force derailleur hanger, where online?..

Hi guys, after 4 years of use my derailleur hanger finally gave its all.

Im trying to find out where to order it online, checked derailleurhanger.com, but they only stock them for 2009-2011.

I foune them in a german site for 28euros,

    GT Rear Derailleur Hanger 142, 27,99 €

but im trying to find it somewhere nearer due delivery times. Does any one knows where to find them?

Hey Cesalec, Well for one, I wouldnt order from that site unless your bike is a singlespeed. The items on the pictures dont have a derrailleur hanger on them. I know it says items may differ from picture but would you take the risk? I wouldnt. The removable dropouts ontheseframes dont have brake caliper mounts on the derrailleur side. Just be carefull when u order. I think the 2009 and others are the same as yours. Mine is a 2008 too and Im pretty sure the design didnt change on the newer models.

    Hi,
I posted the wrong link, I mean this link I posted is the left side hanger, but they do offer also the right side hanger. And it is cheaper than in derailleurhanger.com =)

Guys I would like to change the fork on my 2008 GT force, (it came with a marzocchi xc600 ATA2), I want to go at least for 150mm, or 160mm although I dont know if the Force is capable of standing abuse with a 160mm fork.

What forks in this range are you riding, and what are your experiences?

Itīll take 160 just fine, new forces come with 150mm and you can add 20-30mm of extra fork to that.
    Wonīt be so pedal-friendly though.

thanks juancho142! Perhaps a talas, or some u turn with 160 would be ideal to climb and to ride down (once extended).

Anyone else riding 150 or 160 mm forks on their Forceīs?

have you had any frame durability issues by riding a 160mm fork??
what kind of riding do you do, hard?

thinking on getting a 160mm for my 2008 GT Force, but I am weary as if the frame can take it... or should I stick to 150?

I've got a 2012 Force 3.0, it came specced with a 150mm Sektor R, no complaints. I've got a 150mm Revelation to slap on there once I get time to tinker.

Question for everyone: does anyone know what size Fox mounting hardware I would need for said 2012 Force 3.0? I'm putting a Van R on it.

I broke my 2010 GT Sanction frame mid December. After some back & forth with GT and the dealer, they warrantied the Sanction with the Enduro. During the time GT took to get me the Enduro, I decided it was time for a change, and went with a deal on a new Knolly Chilcotin frame, which i'm now building up custom. That new Enduro looks damn sweet though, making it tough to resist taking it out on the trail. Hoping to sell it to offset the cost of the Chilcotin Project.

Many thanks to gt jorgito for his idea of putting orings on the suspension pivots to help keep the pivots clean. The orings I used were labeled R-28. Their dimensions are : .210 cross section, internal diameter 1.475. You need to kind of pre-load the oring on the outer part of the pivot then flip it into place once it is assembled. I love my force but its pretty needy in the pivot maintenance department so I hope this helps. I'll report after a few months. Maybe I can change my custom user title. Sorry about the sideways pics, I haven't figured out how to fix that on my iPad, and my computer's down.

How much info did you have to provide? Was "200X GT Force with a Fox DHX " enough or did he need dimensions?

I'll ride a Marzocchi 44 ata (140mm) when I finally assemble all the parts of the build (my frame is a Force from 2008 also). However, the final idea is to use a 150/160mm fork with talas/ata/uturn likish system, maybe later in the year

    + Drop Bottom Bracket
    + Slacken Headtube Angle

    - Increase chainstay length

    +/- increase wheelbase

Basically allows the bicycle to sit further in its arc of travel.

Thanks, I just got the smaller one for now, I'll see what that does to the head angle, and decide if I need more.

Good job with the o-rings natz. Mine have been working very well. Its time to get new ones since Im gonna do a clean up on it. I also noticed that when I powder coated the rear wheel stays, they have been pretty quiet as well.
